I’m afraid that our state residents will see that and say, "If Trump is fucking a super model, why aren't I?"

Michigan attorney general calls on Trump to wear a mask on visit to Ford plan

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) is imploring President Trump to adhere to health guidelines and wear a facial covering when he visits a Ford ventilator assembly plant in her state later this week.

In an open letter sent to the president on Wednesday, Nessel noted that under Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s (D) stay-at-home order, manufacturers are required to suspend all non-essential visits, including tours. But Nessel said that both she and Whitmer agreed that Ford and the state’s autoworkers deserved to be showcased for the efforts they’ve made amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“While my department will not act to prevent you from touring Ford’s plant, I ask that while you are on tour you respect the great efforts of the men and women at Ford - and across this State - by wearing a facial covering,” she wrote. “It is not just the policy of Ford, by virtue of the Governor’s Executive Orders, it is currently the law of this State.”

Trump is scheduled to tour a Ford manufacturing facility in Ypsilanti, Mich., and deliver remarks there on Thursday. During the pandemic, the factory has been repurposed to generate ventilators and personal protective equipment (PPE) for health care systems.

The factory has policies in place requiring everyone on site to wear personal protective equipment, raising questions about whether Trump would wear a face covering. The president has yet to wear a mask publicly, electing against their use during previous trips to Pennsylvania and Arizona.

He said Tuesday during a Cabinet meeting that he would considering wearing a mask depending on the scenario.

"I will certainly look at it," Trump said. "Am I standing right next to everybody, or am I spread out? Where it’s appropriate I would do it, certainly.”

Nessel told The Hill in a phone interview that it would send a “terrible message” if Trump flouted requirements and did not wear a mask during his visit to the Ford plant.

“I’m afraid that our state residents will see that and say, 'If Trump doesn’t have to wear a mask when he’s in a manufacturing facility, why should I have to?' It is very difficult to enforce the rules when you have a president who is flouting them,” she said.

I have to say that I'm impressed at your ability to manipulate actual facts into a bizarre example of Trump cultism at its best. Trump has been exposed to the virus, refuses to wear a mask (probably because his orange makeup will rub off). He is potentially exposing others to the virus, as well as exposing himself to the virus.

I know that many of y'all believe this is hoax. I know that y'all come on here to profess your adoring love to your esteemed leader.

But I'm having a pretty awful time right now - not because of the racist shit y'all spout and the horrible crap that you say because you can. Maybe this is your only outlet, and you are actually decent people deep down, away from PatNet world.

But a close friend of mine was buried this week, a young woman with young kids and a husband trying to deal with the aftermath. A nurse practitioner, she was working in the acute hospital and avoided exposure, until an asshole neighbor with the virus came a-calling.

I don't care if you believe me. She's dead. The neighbor, who had been feeling sick for a few days, is on a ventilator. Asshole didn't have life - or health - insurance. Whether or not he survives, she will be filing for bankruptcy and blaming Obama.

So enjoy your pretend outrage at the hardship you are enduring while sitting in front of your computer screens. Know that you are safe, unless assholes come a-calling.

Thanks for our daily moral outrage, I was almost worried we wouldn't be shamed for a whole day.

Why, thank you. But I use a stable of writers, mostly from a Uighur re-education camp ESL course. They are terrible students, and think they are writing jihad jingles.

I did not vote for Trump. Nor Hillary. You may suspect the source of your friend's COIVD-19 infection, but you can't really know. And your friend may have just as well died from the flu.

Here is the CDC 2017 flu data. https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2017-2018.htm And just like with COVID-19, most deaths are in the upper age groups, likely with comorbidities. But younger folks are killed by the flu. We don't wear masks for the flu or H1N1. I suppose if you lost a friend to the flu, you would be demanding people do, too, and not poke fun at it.

Maybe they need better rules. If you need a mask to feel safe you should stay home.

She's dead.

What were her comorbidities?

"I was surrounded 8 hours a day by severely ill people needing constant high levels of care, my only protection a mask. But when the non-mask wearing neighbor came to return the lawnmower and I spoke to him for a minute, I got such a massive viral load my healthy ass got deathly ill and died."

That’s why nurses aren’t in charge of medical care decisions.
That stupid mask won’t prevent anything, and if a healthy young woman died of Covid she’s an extreme outlier as 99.99% of healthy young women barely get symptoms let alone die of it.
Also, how is she filing for bankruptcy when she’s dead? Your story isn’t exactly hanging together.
Meanwhile, that HCQ you’re taking for the arthritis is shielding you from contracting it yourself.

But I suppose I’m “racist” for this simple statement of facts. Would you like to speak to our manager, Karen?

Even more interestingly, I have not seen double-blind, peer-reviewed studies about efficacy of mask wearing on corona transmission prevention. So, persons who claim that masks are efficient are just blowing smoke out of their asses.

A nice research paper:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1524265
Quote: Although surgical mask media may be adequate to remove bacteria exhaled or expelled by health care workers, they may not be sufficient to remove the submicrometer-size aerosols containing pathogens to which these health care workers are potentially exposed.

Now, question for persons who have no knowledge of science: is covid pathogen a bacteria of a virus? Answer: it is a fucking virus, WITH A SUBMICROMETER SIZE, more specifically 70-90 nanometers. Effective size is probably somewhat higher as it comes enveloped in a sneeze droplet, but it will still not be filtered out completely by even fancy masks.

Demand to wear mask is just a fucking cargo cult.

I've yet to see one active user here call it a hoax. I actually think most have taken it seriously. The main beef with everyone is the media hype and #fearporn.

Is it dangerous? Yes. Is it contagious? Yes. Can it kill you? Likely no, but possible. There's a level of risk we all take by breathing this air. People, especially in current times, have the option to stay home. Just do that if you're worried. No biggie. If you get fired, collect UE and the federal bonus. 80% of people laid off or unemployed would make more likely. Or you should have saved for an emergency like this.

If you have marketable skills you can get a job when things open back up and you feel safe. No one is forcing people to work or go outside against their will. We are being forced to stay inside against our will though, which is not legal by any standard in America.
