Say what you want about Moore, he is a talented (if FAT) filmmaker, and his Planet of Humans is well-worth watching for anyone of any political persuasion...but environmental nutjobs succeeded in removing it from Youtube. Yay...can't argue with Moore's ideas, so lets censor him.
Edit: and this kinda shows that Youtube/Google Nazis are now attacking their own, if they express non-approved opinions. A public platform where dissent is removed.

This is just spectacular! Leftard idiocy at its finest! They didn’t like Moore’s angle on climate change so they got it banned... which will only ensure its further distribution and raise its credibility!
Leftists really are the morons of the world.

Yeah, Michael Moore confronted Joe Scarbourgh about his intern's death also.

It's well past time to force Google and others to either censor only for non-first-amendment-protected speech or to lose their "publisher" privilege and be subject to lawsuits for what is on their platforms.

IT WAS ONLY AT MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE SOCIALIST/COMMUNISTS SYMPATHIZERS STARTED EATING THEIR OWN. That is always the way with these Marxists.

Left has been burning books and rewriting history for some time now. I’m not surprised at all at this.

Remember moon landing not being American in latest Hollywood leftist propaganda film?

Used to be a skinny little asshole that Milton Freedman would use to clean the bottom of his shoe. Ate a house and made BS movies full of shit stats that are fucking lies. Like Cuba has a better health care system than the U.S.

Fuck that asshat.

His face is extremely punchable. He's said some logical things in the past, but that doesn't take away the fact I want to punch him. Dude should have stayed behind the camera/scenes. I don't believe his message, but he didn't help it by being on camera, that's for sure.

After decades of banging the drum over Corporate Fascism and the Media being controlled by big corps, there is not one lib on this thread complaining.

Also:

"This is propaganda, because it conflicts with the science of the predictive models we prefer to believe".

Think about that.

I actually hope he takes on the leftist cults. It might get attention outside libertarian and conservative circles(there’s no more liberals).

I suspect he has figured out that a lot of "green" stuff has been co-opted by large corporations, and has taken a somewhat unbiased look at it.

Jeez, where will hyperpolarized politics-as-sportsball lead next? Conservatives are standing up for Michael Moore when it's expedient for a moment, spinning this as some kind of "left eating their own" event, a narrative the Director appears to be hamming up for attention. However, the bone of contention is several SECONDS of copyrighted footage Moore allegedly used without permission. It's an absolutely trivial matter to replace or edit out the contested footage and have the video reinstated. Content providers like Youtube may or may not engage in selective removal for ideological reasons, but when there's a legit DCMA claim they are legally obligated to take certain removal actions. THAT is what this event is about. Get back to us when Youtube still won't allow the video with the contested seconds of footage removed.

Film itself is very well worth watching, and its content is not a left/right thing, it is an interesting take on environmentalism and what it has degenerated into by getting in bed with yuuge corporations. Right does try to exploit the fact that movie was removed from youtube. I wonder how much of youtube will be left if a few seconds of copyright in any youtube video would lead to removal...

Smith filed the complaint to YouTube on 23 May after discovering Planet of the Humans used several seconds of footage from his Rare Earthenware project detailing the journey of rare earth minerals from Inner Mongolia.

Smith, who has previously worked on energy and environmental issues, said he did not want his work associated with something he disagreed with. “I went directly to YouTube rather than approaching the filmmakers because I wasn’t interested in negotiation. I don’t support the documentary, I don’t agree with its message and I don’t like the misleading use of facts in its narrative.”

Planet of the Humans director Jeff Gibbs said...in a statement: “This attempt to take down our film and prevent the public from seeing it is a blatant act of censorship by political critics of Planet of the Humans. It is a misuse of copyright law to shut down a film that has opened a serious conversation about how parts of the environmental movement have gotten into bed with Wall Street and so-called “green capitalists.” There is absolutely no copyright violation in my film. This is just another attempt by the film’s opponents to subvert the right to free speech.”

Never would have heard about this movie if the corrupt left hadn’t made such a fuss over it.

Managed to find a site still hosting it if anyone wants to watch:

https://www.filmsforaction.org/watch/michael-moore-presents-planet-of-the-humans/

If you don’t want to waste your time I’ll summarize it for you:

1. Solar and wind can never work since weather isn’t reliable, never mind how dirty they are to produce, and they need to get replaced every 20 years or so.
2. It was news to me but apparently most renewable energy is biomass, burning trees, which is as terrible an idea as it sounds
3. Shockingly a lot of people are making money on green energy and they don’t like to be criticized
4. Solution: reduce the population (not the film maker or his audience of course) and go vegan

I think where the movie falls on it’s face is although he makes the same criticisms that the right has made for years about green energy, the film maker never goes deeper and challenges his own assumptions about environmentalism.

As a conservative, you watch the movie and agree with the parts where he criticizes green energy but you don’t accept his solution since we are not close to running out of coal and oil and nuclear energy is a thing, which he doesn’t talk about.

Because he doesn’t address the conservative criticism that green energy is unnecessary, his extreme solution is unconvincing.

4. Solution: reduce the population

The ONLY solution IF carbon emissions are actually a threat. Until people want to be honest about that, it's why I generally avoid climate change topics. We can lower per capita emissions year over year, but we create more people every year that increase the overall emissions faster than the per capita drop. Climate change by default is retardation if you're not going to account for people creation and getting rid of a lot of them. It's not even worth debating/discussing.

He does ignore nuclear, but I think population needs to be reduced. In fact, in developed countries it is already self-reducing, so one needs to start reducing it in developing countries. Will cut illegal immigration as well.

He actually doesn’t focus too much on climate change, his larger point being being if climate change doesn’t get us, eco system collapse, failures of factory farms, etc etc will.

And I think one reason why the left is pissed is that he was pointing out that all this “green” tech is actually accelerating this. One of the first scenes was him showing them doing mountain top removal for a wind farm.

I would have liked him to take a step back and ask himself, “wait a minute, all the evil billionaires I’ve shown in this movie making money on over hyped green tech are also pushing climate change theory real hard, could it be they are hyping that as well to make money?” But he’s too deep in the environmental movement to question that.

It is good that he has gone half-way or may be even more, that is very rare and requires intelligence and ability to reflect. Also, I do not really think that climate change science is settled, while anyone with a little bit of brain can calculate efficiency of "green energy" relative to other types of energy.

Exactly. Advances in solar/wind/geo and perhaps new technologies and efficiencies can bring a renewable energy society, but only if we allow the population to stabilize to a sustainable level. It is not just powering household machines we have to worry about, but not depleting the land/sea in order to feed a growing population.

He is very flammable, as he consists of mostly FAT. Dangerous - peaceful protesters may set him on fire.
