Countries that have reopened schools after passing the peak of the epidemic show no immediate spike in new cases so far

On average, countries reopened schools 25 to 30 days after the peak in new cases. Of the twenty countries that have reopened, only three—Madagascar, Czechia, and Vietnam—look as if there may have been any change in the trend of new daily cases when schools reopened.

Most countries that have already reopened their schools have continued their downward trend in new cases (Figure 1). But there are exceptions. Governments will need to use regional and sub-regional new case data to make decisions about localised school closures if spikes in new cases occur. For example, in South Korea around 250 schools near the capital Seoul were closed on May 28, just a few days after they opened, after a spike of 79 cases was reported. Schools across the rest of the country remain open.

Vertical line in the middle is re-opening of schools. The course of the epidemic seems pretty much unaffected. Note that it's a log scale.

Most kids are either immune or will show no symptoms. A couple of teachers may get it and some parents. Manageable, esp. since we already have some herd immunity. High risk teachers and school personnel should wear masks and follow distancing rules.

Today I went to store with no mask, ready to give an earful if I was stopped and told to put my mask on.

Nobody said a word, just looked on with their Dog Muzzles on.

What's with those extended black cloth masks, that look like Dog Muzzles?
Some people look proud to be a part of the Commie team wearing them. I saw a couple in Publix weeks back they both had matching Dog Muzzle Masks, with flashing LED lights.

People want to wear these fucking masks, that's their prerogative, we need to stop letting them make the sane people in this country go along for the ride.

If schools don't open in the fall, good luck collecting property taxes. My area it's 85% of the tax bill going towards schools. I'm not going to pay others when I have to teach my own kids. There are programs online now with age appropriate lesson plans. We also travel and physically visit interesting shit all the time. Don't need to be paying teachers and administrators $60k or so on average to provide lesson plans. That's stupid.
