The Left became more and more Left. The Right stayed where it was.

Note how tall the left shoulder is at the extreme in 2015, compared to any shoulder in previous decades.

Another graphic:

Another datapoint that Liberals are becoming Far Left, and that "Conservative" or "Blue Dog" Democrats are fading out of existence from Democratic Party:

Now the good news. Whacko Left Growth is slowing and may have peaked:

I believe the largest group contributing to the whacko left is the around 1990 birth year Millennial Cohort. They're now all present and accounted for at 30 years old

The next big birth year is 2008. They would be too young to remember the financial crisis and right now are kids who will remember Trump as the President of their Childhood, just like I remember Reagan as mine. In about 2028 we'll start getting more info about them, and I think it will be shocking to the Left.

I feel that it is Trump who has pulled the Republicans back towards the middle. He was the only Republican in favor of not meddling with social security and medicare (two linchpin Democrat programs). The other Republican candidates at the time he was running were for privatizing, reducing or eliminating the programs. His actions show that religious beliefs are not the primary focus of ones life. He speaks against non-stop free trade giveaways the extreme right has always been in favor of. If not for Trump, Republicans would be just as bat shit crazy as the Democrats.

Trump is fundamentally a conservative Democrat or Liberal Republican of earlier eras.

He only seems radical because it's been 30 years since both parties endorsed the whole sale the Free Trading of America - away to China. The Dems long ago abandoned non-public unions and the white working class.

Trump basically purged the Neocons and GOPe, most of whom have defected to the Dems and have forever lost credibility with the base (Kristol, Ryan, etc.) Trump's endorsements of Republicans in Primaries are all undefeated with close to 100 candidates.

We are in the midst, maybe the peak, of the Great Awokening, fueled by radical control of Academia with sky high College attendance, amplified by radicalized Millennial Hacks, with the Financial Crisis contributing to delayed Middle Class Paycheck Tax Shock among Generation Snowfake.

The good news is the Fifth Great Awakening (the Fourth was the Jesus Freaks and Born Agains late 60s-early 90s). Awakenings are usually separated by a couple of generations. It will be kind of a Black Swan Event - one that in hindsight was very visible, but the data points seldom correlated and commented upon. It will be the counter-revolution to the Sexual Revolution, as people realize that Freedom Of Fetishes can't replace community, family, and a sense of higher guidance and purpose.

If the Great Awokening is the revenge of 60s radicals, with the basic outlook of the Weathermen becoming normalized in Media, then the 5th Great Awokening will be the revenge of the Fundamentalists.

This is heresy.
