Joe Biden’s campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon penned a letter, obtained by Fox News, to the Commission on Presidential Debates outlining the campaign’s expectations for the debate schedule this fall.

“While I know no formal debate invitation will be issued to Joe Biden or Donald Trump until after the Party Conventions and the CPD’s invitation process, I wanted to set forth our views on how the Commission should proceed with planning for the fall debates,” Dillon wrote.

“First, once formally invited, Vice President Biden will accept and participate in the Commission’s planned Presidential candidates’ debates for September 29, October 15, and October 22; his running mate will participate in the Vice Presidential candidates’ debate set for October 7,” she wrote. “We hope that President Trump and Vice President Pence will similarly indicate their willingness to participate.”

She added: “Joe Biden looks forward to facing Donald Trump in a multi-debate series that the American people have come to expect from their leaders; we hope that President Trump would not break that tradition or make excuses for a refusal to participate.”

Dillon went on to write that Trump is “trailing badly in the polls” and is “desperate to change the subject from his failed leadership of the country.”

“We are seeing reports that he has his own proposal for debates—after having said, just six months ago, that he might not want to participate at all in planned debates,” Dillon wrote. “No one should be fooled: the Trump campaign’s new position is a debate distraction.”

Wow they shamed Biden into it! Or his handlers, anyway. I guess the cognitive dissonance got to them... how if their guy is so shitty and senile they still support him so much ... became “he’s fine! He will debate!”

Now it's time for "Stay Home, Stay Safe" Virtual Debates from Bidens basement with questions in advance and his staff armed with an earpiece and teleprompter.

That still won't help. However, unlike a live debate they might just cut Trump's feed if he tries to get into it with Biden and Biden gets lost.

On the other hand, this could be a Major Indicator they will be replacing Biden at the convention. They might have to just to save the House.

Mark my words here and now as the truth. The Democrats will not be wiling to do a second debate with Trump.

He's going to spend his whole time, not answering the racist baited loaded questions. But instead giving the American people the full back story to the Biden Scandals, the Obama abuse of his office and the tainting of his administration with Communist plot to over throw the American system. He should wrap the night up, with the final words telling the American people, all of the crimes that has been exposed is real, and the corruption runs so deep that Sessions was a Swamp creature and one of the co-conspirators to overthrow the president, and so is Barr(if he indeed is). He should expose the Corona Virus for what we all know it is, and name the creatures we all know that set it up. Also calls to bring down Soros and Gates.
He should then wrap it up by bringing it to the people, if they want more of this wild lawlessness and pandemonium and mayhem. Then vote for Biden, if they want the Scamdemic to be over, then don't only reelect him, but send him people that will help him send these people to Hell.

He she should call out everything. And if the next morning Bill Barr does not follow through with indictments, we all stop waiting for that fat useless fuck to shit or get off the Pot. He would be fully one of THEM at that point, and we can all stop fantasizing.

But if the Democrats are dumb enough for a second or third debate, it will only get worse for them after that.

How about each candidate gets a 3 hour slot with The Rubin Report and neither candidate gets to hear the other interview first.

Biden is not the nominee. He won't debate once. That's my prediction and call me out if I'm wrong. And if he does debate once, he'll get replaced shortly afterward.

I think they pull the plug on him and kind of soon. Some medical condition will come up or some random excuse. I'm guessing maybe around July 4th when people are traveling and distracted. The DNC will plug in some other puppet and hope that no one really notices, which most Americans won't in all honesty with everything going on.

As long as they don't Epstine him...

Yep, they're already spinning Senate races. Trump has already tweeted that "AOC would make a great senator." That is choice. You can see he's absolutely trying to force the dems to choose extreme progressives, which have an even poorer chance of winning.

Wow I have to see this.

Biden will be a lamb to slaughter.

I’m going to love to watch Trump stomp Biden into the dirt.

I see only three ways ahead:

50% They replace Biden
25% They keep Biden but honestly promote the Veep as the "Real Candidate" and suggest Biden will step down during his 1st term. SHE does most of the campaigning.
25% They keep Biden but he sends the lion's sum of his campaign contributions downline to House and Senate Candidates.

Doubtful. In order to be in any of the debates, he has the be the Dem nominee. That makes post-convention.

I get your point, but the DNC is a private entity. They can change whatever they want, whenever they want. It's not government controlled outside of using the government as the primary voting mechanism. The guy can barely spit out a coherent sentence ad lib. How in the hell do you get the votes to be the nominee and then disappear? There's nothing normal about this unless our media is actively engaging in political warfare to benefit one party.

This was another path I've thought about, although it legitimately could be natural once you start bumping up against 80.

Either way, I don't see Joe making it to a 2nd debate before getting swapped out, which would be post convention so you're likely right on that TT. I have a weird gut feeling though that something happens before then and during a busy time for Americans. There's not a chance internal DNC polling has Biden winning and that's why he's hiding. They're fucking scared it's going to be a landslide.

Most of the people voting for Biden are voting AGAINST Trump, just like in 2016 where many Trump voters were voting against Hillary. For those voters, it didn’t matter what Trump did, they’d vote for him to make sure Hillary didn’t get in. Same now, where on the Left, vast numbers of sheeple have been radically conditioned to hate Trump as “literally Hitler” and will vote to get him out regardless of anything Biden does or does not do. He could be revealed as a rampant pedophile tomorrow and those voters just would not care.
They aren’t logical or rational. They’re Democrats and that shit is foreign to them.

Anyone else notice that the other prominent Democrats have stopped campaigning for Biden.

Not a peep from Obama, Sanders, Hillary, etc.
13   SunnyvaleCA   2020 Jun 23, 12:07pm

I see these scenarios:
(1) Biden drops out before the convention due to "health reasons" and a new candidate is picked at the convention.
(2) Biden "wins" the convention, already has a running mate named (or names one shortly after), and then steps down from the nomination to allow the running mate to run for president.
(3) In a brokered convention, Biden is discarded and a replacement is picked.
(4) Biden solders on and the presidential race continues its usual course.

I see 1 and 2 as requiring Biden's cooperation, but are the best way forward for Democrats.

One problem with #2 is that the the Democrats will be forced to push whoever Biden's running mate is. But Biden is seemingly locked into pushing "a woman," and since Klobuchar has said no, that women is either "a woman of color" or the nearly-as-old "fake woman of color." There's nothing wrong with "a woman of color" being the next president of the USA, but I think such a candidate would be poor strategic choice to run against Trump/Pence. Instead the Democrats should run a platform that is only slightly more woman-friendly and slightly more black-friendly than their competition — don't leave lots of ground in between the two platforms for voters to have to pick sides. That's basic game theory.

Nope. Not if they want their new candidate listed on the ballots. That is all controlled by the states.
The other trick will be not alienating their voters so much that they just stay home. Give the nod to Kamala Harris and see how the voter turnout goes.
15   Shaman   2020 Jun 23, 1:08pm

Biden won’t step down (Before the election). Democrats are committed to gaslighting the public into thinking he’s an acceptable candidate. Full court press with the media in abject collusion.

They’re doing this because they think they can win. And they might be right if Trump keeps being stupid.

Here it comes, the hemming and the hawing to get out of traditional live debates:

This Blue Check works on the WaPo Editorial Page, of course.

They want virtual debates so Biden can be on delay, easier to cut off Trump, and Biden can be coached by staffers during the Q&A. In fact, they'll probably want Q's in advance, "so we can get substantive answers" aka Langue d'Bois (wooden speech).
17   Hircus   2020 Jun 25, 8:53pm

I think if Biden makes it to a debate, he's gonna crush up some adderal and snort it. Hell, he'll probably get some doc to give him all kinds of shit to keep him from napping between questions lol.
18   MisdemeanorRebel   2020 Jun 30, 1:06pm

Biden wants "strong" vice president who is "ready to be president on day one"
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/joe-biden-vice-president-strong-president-day-one/

Is it the "You're really voting for my Veep" tactic?
19   rdm   2020 Jun 30, 5:43pm

You guys are a hoot. You really don't see how damaged Trump is do you? He has the vocabulary of an 8 year old and the attention span of a 5 year old. I have recommended this many times, go back 20 years and watch Trump speak and with a straight face tell me he has not deteriorated drastically.

Biden also has slipped and makes gaffs but as the Dem debates went on and the competition thinned out he did better and better. He did not do well with 10 people on the stage. He did just fine against Bernie in the last debate. Biden will debate that's my prediction, Trump I have my doubts. He is already wanting to pick the moderators. Trump never gets hardball questions, or if he does he doesnt answer them, degrading the person as nasty who asked them. In a debate he will be destroyed trying to defend his record, it will be one lie and grievance after another.

Thinking like this seems delusional. Trump not wanting to debate? It would be easier to get him to shut up or stop tweeting than for him to pass up a debate with sleepy Joe.
