I think we have a generation of uneducated young people, it's the perfect breading ground for manipulation. The generation grew up with the internet which is great for somethings but has neutered any real news down to even smaller sound bites than horrible cable news.
Add the lower wages and the inflation over the last 40yrs and it's a perfect storm for Nazi type power grab just like in Germany.
