After facing mounting pressure from members of the organization ‘Suddenly Every Stone Offends Me’, New York City has decided to tear down and return “racist” Lady Liberty to France. The dramatic decision comes after numerous statues were vandalized recently in the US and Europe.

Newly minted assistant professor of Diverse and Inclusive Statues and Artwork at Columbia University, Ms. Lailah Louffah, spoke to The Mideast Beast.

“Unbeknownst to most, the Statue of Liberty has always been a symbol of America’s white colonial legacy, a gift given by colonial France just to piss off colonial Britain. By its very stature, this giant piece of copper is obviously a supremacist in the way that she literally stares down at people in New York City without even considering whether it is including everyone equally in its condescending and undiversified glare. And why is she raising a weapon of fire rather than reaching out to offer a hug? It is impossible to live in this city without feeling hurt by its presence”, Louffah explained.

You wish.

That would certainly help Trump get reelected if it were true.

It's not.

Although Trump did call for it to be removed back in 2016, becasue it encourages immigration to the US.

Nope, the prose on the base came after the Statue. It's the Statue that celebrates, I dunno, LIBERTY. Not the Statue of Mass Immigration.

It is gender-centric as it is referred to as Lady Liberty. It is clearly discrimination against non binary people. That is why the Statue of Liberty needs to be taken down.

Exactly. Mass immigration of poor, uneducated 3rd world immigrants who are not interested in LIBERTY but more about economics and hand-outs (for their children brought here and their children born here). These immigrants have no clue about or care about LIBERTY as well as the Constitution.

Massive immigration ----> Democrat control ----> less liberty and more left wing authoritarian government

Okay, looks like I was buying satire again.

What can I say. It sounds so much like him.

“It makes no sense to tell the world you can’t come here unless we invite you and then you have this frumpy old woman standing outside our country and telling people to come and stay as long as you want,” Trump said during a press conference at the Trump Tower in New York City. “Does this make any sense?”

Trump said the words on the Statue of Liberty run contrary to everything his supporters believe — although, he admitted, he couldn’t remember the words.

“What does the Statue of Liberty say? I don’t know. To be honest, I’ve lived in New York City my whole life and I’ve never been there,” Trump said. “Why would anyone go? Nobody goes there.”

A reporter told him that the Statue of Liberty said, “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

“Is that right? Really? Your tired? Your poor? Your wretched refuse? Homeless? So that’s how they all got here? When Europe sends its people, they’re not sending the best,” Trump said, rolling his eyes. “Who needs those people? It might as well say, `Give us your rapists, your criminals, your drug dealers .... your coddled terrorists.’ “

Trump said the country had to secure its borders to prevent all undocumented immigrants from entering the country.

“Like Melania?” asked one reporter, who was immediately handcuffed by New York City police officers and removed from the press conference.

Questions remain about whether Trump’s wife Melania followed U.S. immigration law when she came to the United States from her native Slovenia.

Trump was then asked how he thought Americans would respond if he removed the Statue of Liberty, which has stood in the harbor as a symbol of freedom and hope for millions of immigrants who have come to the United States since the late 1800s.

“Americans will thank me,” Trump said.

“The Statue of Liberty is an ugly statue. It is. She’s an ugly woman, a very ugly woman. Certainly not a ten. She’s got no chest. A flat chested woman can’t be ten —

Why did France send us a statue of a flat-chested woman?”

Trump was asked if he would consider having a statue in New York harbor if the statue was better looking.

“Like Melania,” Trump replied. “Maybe. Melania. Yes. She’s an immigrant and she’s opposed to other immigrants. So, yes. But if we put up a statue of Melania, and this is something we’re thinking about, we wouldn’t have her holding up a torch. We need something that tells immigrants we don’t want them.”

“What if the statue raises her middle finger?” a reporter asked.

“Great idea!” Trump said. “A statue of Melania raising her middle finger at Europe! I got to tell you, Americans will love it. Europe won’t. Who cares what Europe thinks? Screw Europe.”

The statue of liberty was a gift from France to celebrate the end of slavery, not immigration. The plaque on the statue did not come from France, but was based upon a poem written in 1883 to raise money for the statue's pedestal. The poem was written by a Jewish immigrant rights activist, and the plaque itself with words from the poem was affixed to the statue in 1903. But the words had little effect, as the subsequent US Immigration Act of 1924 restricted the immigration of Jews, Eastern and Southern Europeans to the USA. So the lofty symbol of immigration was contemporaneous with restrictive immigration laws, and the orderly screening and processing of immigrants.

Maybe send the poem to France as a gift (white elephant) from the USA. As for Ms. Liberty herself? Green Lives Matter!

Replace it with a huge statue of Trump

That was written by a Jewish American poet named Emma Lazarus. That poem she wrote was not provided by France. It was added later on by progressive activists like the Jewish American Historical Society.

France was honoring America as a beacon of liberty and freedom. Something the militant left wants to take away from conservatives by "fundamentally transforming" America.

The Statue of Liberty is about Liberty. It is not the Statue of Open Border and Massive 3rd World Immigration.

You might want to examine all your most cherished beliefs with this in mind: that the source for the facts that underpin these beliefs might be a flat out lie.

@Marcus,
toppling of Ulysses Grant statue in SF is not different from removal of "racist statue of Liberty".

Trump should run the video of this removal 24/7 in November, and also note the deafening silence of most D politicians about erasing of memory of person who did more in ending slavery and race equality than a trillion Pelosi's.
