I had the impression that the Irish crowd is just trying to get back a phone that the black guy stole.

The problem with vigilante justice is it often extreme and disproportionate to the actual crimes. Say what you will about the abuses of courts, police and lawyers, they provide a buffer to the Hatfield and McCoy rages of the unrestrained populace.

People will gladly leave enforcement to a properly functioning justice system.

But what do you do when the justice system is badly broken and elections have been corrupted?

I just saw the segment of the dad (selected for jury duty) who was thrown into jail, incl. isolation, by a leftoid judge for not wearing a mask just for it (no mandates in effect), no phone calls allowed. When things are this far that the government is worse than the mafia and other criminals I don't think there's anything left even resembling a justice system. If the mid terms and 2024 don't turn things around it's looking bleak for the US.

The government is the mafia. Someone posted this a while back and, actually, Marc Faber makes the same point in his entertaining observations on the economy.

If you want to see proof of this concept, look at Chicago. Police have basically given up in several areas and the people “police” themselves with endless shootings in retribution for other shootings.

This reminds me of a discussion I had many years ago with a friend who was also a police officer in Oakland at the time

He told me that there were neighborhoods in east Oakland that the OPD would show no urgency to and more or less avoid between the hours of 10pm - 6am. It was too dangerous to engage without sufficient backup (which wasn’t always available). Police arrival was greatly delayed (intentionally) and treated as cleanup effort rather than a prompt engagement.

I inquired further and he indicated something to the effect of… why risk our lives to dispute issues between gangs, drug dealers, pimps, etc. You would never have heard the comment on local news.

A Chicago carjacking victim managed to turn the tables on his attacker, leaving the thug beaten, humiliated, and jailed.

The crook, identified by police as 30-year-old Richard Rubio, tried to carjack the wrong man at the intersection of 56th Street and Kolin Avenue near Midway airport Saturday.

Prosecutors say the “victim” turned the tables on a carjacker by disarming the felon and beating him with his own gun.

A gunman wearing a ski mask approached a parked car pointing a gun at a woman sitting in the passenger seat.

He told her to get out of the car so she exited the vehicle.

The carjacker walked to the driver’s door as the driver, a male, was getting out of his car.

The thug then demanded the man’s wallet.

The victim said he didn’t have a wallet but asked the criminal if he could get his phone out of the car before the hijacker drove off.

The thug refused and said he would be keeping the victim’s phone.

At this point, the driver reached his limit.

As the carjacker tried to get in the car, the victim made his move.

He grabbed the gun and brought the thug to the ground, according to prosecutors.

The two wrestled before the victim put the hijacker in a chokehold and punched him repeatedly.

Eventually, the carjacker let go of the gun.

The victim then beat the thug with his own gun until the police showed up.

The driver’s female passenger called 911 during the scuffle.

A 23-year-old woman with a concealed carry permit shot a carjacker in the head during a failed hijacking attempt in Chicago last week.

The unidentified woman was sitting in her car when four armed men jumped out of a black sedan and approached her car.

The woman then exited her car and fled the scene.

One of the carjackers opened fire on the woman and she was shot in the arm.

The other three attackers got away.

On the one hand, the defense could say that the bystander wasn't personally threatened.

On the other, the robber was threatening someone else with a gun and could easily have shot that person or the bystander himself.
