Should have happened at end of cold war.

Yeah, I love it.

The American taxpayers have paid for the defense of Germany while they competed with us, and spent their money on their own people.

We know that the Germans will complain and they will be invited to MSNBC and CNN to badmouth Trump.

Let them handle their own business and defense.

Name a country we deployed military resources to and then subsequently left, completely, 100%. The list is probably shorter than you think...

Even worse that that - Germany pays Russia billions to develop and sell natural gas via Nordstream, which the Russians redirect to tech and military updates. Germans are actually subsidizing Russian modernization.

Germany throttled about 2/3rd on their military personnel and more than half their expenditure since 1990, in fact they could not find a dozen functioning tanks a few years ago for a military exercise, it took them a week or so to get the parts and long delayed maintenance for them and bring them all together. Adjusted for inflation, Germany spends half today ($42B) what it did in the late 80s ($87B in modern money).

This was ONLY the Federal Republic, not the DDR counted at all, but modern Germany encapsulates both. If you added both DDR and FRG together, the military was probably cut 80%+ in personnel and 3/4 in budget.

That's one.. but they didn't throw us out until 1966/7.

If not for that we would still be there.

View Nam is another one... but thats a whole nother story... generally we stay. Korea, Germany, Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan...

Don't forget these traitorous fucks trying to block the deployment of Pershing II missiles in the 80s.

True, the US does tend to stay, and I can see the military wanting that even if it's not a good idea for the US overall.

I hope the military keeps supporting Trump.

View Nam is another one.

Yet Vietnam has invited the US back, offering to lease out Cam Ranh Bay.
