Privacy law proposal: all cameras and microphones must have a hardware switch

It should be illegal to sell any consumer electronics device with a camera, microphone, speaker, or gps unless that function has a hardware disconnect switch easily available to the user.

There has already been way too much spying going on via our phones and computers.

You cannot trust a software off switch. Hardware is the only way.

You also want the ability to disable speakers because they are used to broadcast ultrasonic tracking signals:

Surely you mean any consumer grade web toys?

Hardware switches on pro audio mics is a huge tone suck.
It's the tale tell sign, you're about partake in a busted jam.

All electronics should have a real hardware off switch. Not just cameras, etc.

We need a disinformation switch which, on command, sends pictures of strangers having sex with animals and kitchen appliance and GPS coordinates that are in no way related to the actual user.
