Why? Because that implies that one of those partisan factions in question is a real faction of actual differing & SERIOUS opinions.

We don't have that. We have instead SANE America and FUCKING WHACKO INSANE America.

One of many examples that backs this characterization up: https://patrick.net/post/1334406/2020-08-12-proff-says-math-is-white-supremacy

...but also: The insanity that is currently going on within the DNC and Team Biden, the shampeachment and pretty much everything else going on in the House and Blue States, stage 4 TDS, etc.

And to think that in response to all of this the rest of us SANE folk have been shaking our heads and asking ourselves "How do ppl put up with all this crap?" when instead we should just be accepting that a good 1/4 to a third of the country has just gone outright insane instead and stop wondering about it.

And logically the next step would be to recognize that one should not give any iota of credibility nor respect to FUCKING WHACKO INSANE America. Therefore, one should not also waste any brain cells on 'understanding' a partisan division that just isn't there.

Good news: This should make everyone's vote REAL easy in the upcoming election.

Bad news: @Patrick is going to have to dump Understanding Partisan Division and come up with something else.

The hope is that by understanding the causes of the division, the left can come back to sanity.

They have moved extremely far from the center.

The right has barely moved.

They won't Pat, tits is right.

Sadly, I don't think the course will change much without some sort of civil war although I hope it does. If that happens even if the sane 'would win in theory' I think our external enemies will take full advantage.

Thus, my desire to move to Florida soon and get a nice big sailboat. I'd stay and fight too though.

I'm convinced that pharmacologic psyops are at least partially in play. I'm not talking the regular drug things that people use, i'm talking government programmed psychotropics. I can't really figure out the delivery vehicles, but there is too much crazy to think that everybody is in their right mind these days.

They are INSANE. You can't deal with INSANE. You can't 'understand' it...it's pointless. At least the whacked folks on the streets in need of Lithium and other meds to treat their schizo can be fixed by other people [us] if we as a society decided to help them. These folks on the Left can not be fixed by anyone else. They brought this insanity of theirs upon themselves. It's self-induced lobotomization or pretty damn close.

Also: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result every time".

So constantly expecting them to 'see the light' over and over again is insanity in and of itself, also. :)

Thus the sane thing to do is writing these fuckers off and walling ourselves off from them and their effect on us both directly as possible...

But they were sane(r) at some point, so it should be possible to move the needle back. Maybe many are too far gone, but it doesn't have to be. Movements come and go and there have been quick tidal waves of change of opinions before. Someone indoctrinated them, so they can be deprogrammed.

Maybe, but it's also simple programming. The baby boomers caused a lot of this, they should have put the brakes on universities and schools early on and not sent their kids there. Also growing wealth and standard of living creates weak men and angry womyn, a perfect storm for rabid leftism.

I disagree. I think this works (deprogramming) on smaller scales. I've heard and tend to believe that ones political persuasion (if involved) tends to crystallize (if young at the time) and not change over one's lifetime. So yes, that means mine as well. Yeah, there's #walkaway but lots of those videos are of people who really hadn't thought and truly taken a position.

I recall when I was studying to become a neurobiologist (bailed on that haha) one of the simple classes covering mass delusion and being the young kid I was at the time thinking: "Ya, that shit will never happen here in the US of A!". I think Nazism was the topic at the time, I don't recall that clearly.

That shit is everywhere now. Probably was then too as in 'we should buy x,y or z', but now in a bad way.

The fix is someone(s) who will unify the country. That isn't happening until socialism is squashed (again). I don't want to entertain the alternative idea but it's certainly not a fix.

Not that the right can’t have people with mental health issues...they can....but it seems waaaaay more prevalent among the left. I do think something’s gone very wrong with women in our society and an awful lot are leftist and have mental health issues.

I agree. Women got everything they demanded and they are still unhappy. Now they don't know what to do and that makes them frustrated and angry.

It’s fun to tell one who’s on a rant: nobody cares what a dried-up bitter old cat lady thinks!

I think the root of this craziness is our new digital world: social media, internet, and more sophisticated software.

The majority of the country willfully spends time every day on their remote propaganda programming terminals (aka TV / Computer). Human behavioral spy networks like Google, Facebook, Twitter etc... are able to present us with the content of their choosing, and then are able to measure our reaction to it. They crunch this data in mass to learn about how various groups of people behave & react to different conditions, and have made leaps and bounds of progress these past 10-15 years on how to understand and manipulate peoples behavior.

And social media in particular makes people behave differently. Having the things you've said in the past permanently viewable and searchable by large groups of future people is vastly different than the previous era where only a few people knew you said statement X, and a different few people heard statement Y. Now hundreds / thousands of ppl know of all your statements, including those made before they became acquainted with you. This influences people to behave differently and make statements which satisfy lowest common denominators, and remain consistent with their prior statements. Prior generations were allowed to grow and change their opinions freely because most people weren't aware of your previous statements, making it easier to change and grow without worry of consistency clashes. This is why Political Correctness has surged these past 10 years - the consequences of violating PC rules has dramatically increased, so people changed to obey it. When its rare to hear non-pc statements from your peers, people become sensitized to them, and vilify those who dare to disobey PC rules because they now seem like such outliers.
