WHY IS THE POWER BEING TURNED OFF?
Since most of the region’s power comes from solar and wind energy, and people usually use their electricity for air conditioning and light when the sun goes down, the electrical grid becomes strained and faces the risk of shutting down entirely.
So basically we've advanced so far ahead of everybody else that we lapped them and now going neck-in-neck with the 3rd World shitholes, blackouts and all.
It's amazing that the power grid would be stressed when 1/2 the office buildings are shut down due to weekend + covid19. Or is it the other way around? Maybe if it were a normal working day people go to work and don't turn on their house air conditioning, which actually saves power? My shack doesn't have A/C, so the current situation (where my office building isn't running A/C) is saving power.
Just hit 100 degrees again in Santa Cruz (and humid, too) So much for 'California Weather and Coastal Cooling'.
PG&E is still mad about being forced into bankruptcy again by the Paradise fire. As in all things California, the methods are all punitive and retaliatory now, as you would expect from LibbyFuck Heaven. i imagine they would impose rolling blackouts just for the fun of it, whether needed or not, just to be bastards.
Some of the people leaving Cali said that having their power forcibly shut down for lengthy periods of time, totaling as much as several months, was part of their reason for leaving the State. The infrastructure is gong third world, too.
Over 18 fires started last night by lightening around Santa Cruz.
