We can reasonably assume that the whole west coast is now going to finally maintain their forests the way Europeans do:

1. "combing" out 100 years of accumulated crap that was never allowed to burn
2. creating 50 yard wide firebreaks at regular intervals

Knowing this, which stocks are about to get huge orders, and therefore likely to go up?

So I saw like 10 Boeing 747 super scooper go over my house today, who owns those?

This is CA. So likely Democrats.

They don’t share tax racket.

Remember gardening la company was tied to Garcetti and disappeared overnight when rebate ran out.

They have to buy their machinery somewhere.

I bet whatever company makes forest clearing machinery is solidly Republican.
4   steverbeaver   2020 Sep 15, 8:06pm

Invest in my novel "A-grade" fertilizer company, totally organic and derived from an abundant, natural occurring source. I expect it to launch around mid-November.
5   Patrick   2020 Sep 15, 8:11pm

More than abundant! It's going to be hard to get rid of that much biomass no matter what they do with it.
6   EBGuy   2020 Sep 15, 8:13pm

Has anyone seen a good, statewide composite burn map with the fires from the past two decades?

Lol, you may be right!

Is there any limit to Democratic woketardness? Maybe not. They may enjoy letting the state burn every year just to be right about "global warming" while ignoring the mass buildup of biomass and the deliberate fire-setting by leftists and drug dealer rivalry.

Saving the woketard definition here because Urbandictionary is turning woketard itself.

Top definition
woketard
Somebody so woke they can't think straight.
After years at Oberlin College, and a quarter of a million dollars of student loan debt, Sandy had become such a woketard that she would insist that biological males can have abortions while claiming that requests to describe the operating procedure was hate speech that should be punished with violence and the loss of one's job.

"This medical doctor says men can't have abortions. Can we get some muscle over here?" screeched the purple-haired woketard through her septum nose ring.

I noticed some of the CA ballot seems oddly positioned to benefit from a state full of citizens in shock and panic from fires.

They plan to change how real estate tax and transfer laws work, and will use the new tax revenue to fund wildfire agencies

https://ballotpedia.org/California_Proposition_19,_Property_Tax_Transfers,_Exemptions,_and_Revenue_for_Wildfire_Agencies_and_Counties_Amendment_(2020)

Apparently, the NAR is behind at least part of this. For years, they've been trying to make it legal for older people to sell a home, then buy a new one, without losing your sweet prop 13 low tax bill. Right now, you can do such a transfer 1 time, but only in a few specific counties, and you must not move outside the county. Many counties opted out after losing massive tax revenue, so now the NAR wants to force it to be statewide, so they cant opt out, and it allows you to transfer/move to any place in the state while keeping your low tax bill. And they will let you move 3 times.

NAR wants this because when people move, their realtor goons put their fangs in and extract a typical 6% worth of blood. Of course theres pros/cons to this tax change, but thats offtopic.

I just think it's odd that the money will goto wildfires, and low and behold - we have massive wildfires this year. Also, it seem like at least some of these fires can be blamed on lack of fire defense via controlled burns etc..., which is clearly because some govt fuck decided not to do it recently despite record tax income recently.

Coincidence?

+ Intentional lack of fire defense
+ Mega fires
+ New legislation that will pay for badly needed fire defense, and simultaneously benefit Big Realtard

Given it's CA, I'm surprised there's not some government mandated fire suppression system for the exterior of all new or rebuilt homes. Like sprinkler systems in high rises. I've mentioned this before here. No wildfires here in IL, but I'm shocked there's not widespread, automated fire suppression to save homes and the owner can just leave and trust that their home will be there when they get back. I'm no engineer, but this doesn't seem like an overly complicated or super expensive problem to overcome.

It's not, it's just basic forest management. We can use convicts if we're smart. The fucking indigenous natives kept the lawn mowed from the East coast to the West coast before eventually the leftists took over. You really could take a stage coach across the continent. Nowadays with all the scrub and shit no way.

Small burns germinate a lot of the forest seeds. Large burn kill the forest. That knowledge has been around for a long long time and the leftists ignored it.

Got to say, it's sure nice being down here in the SW corner of the US. We had one large fire about 20-25 miles from me that took off over the holiday weekend. It looked like a nuclear bomb went off (mushroom cloud) initially. I never smelt smoke; just had some days were the ground was copper colored as was the sun.

Even when I was a kid in NorCal in the 70s I remember being nearly surrounded by fire sometimes (hills around vacaville) and ash snow.
16   Patrick   2020 Sep 15, 9:51pm

The last week, Sep 8 to 15, has been miserable and obviously very damaging to the health of tens of millions caught in all that smoke. It finally cleared today, but my eyes and throat still hurt, still have a headache and a cough.

I really hate California now, but I can't even dream of clean air in Washington State anymore. They had it as bad as here and worse some days.

Purpleair monitor near me:

let me let you in on a secret. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/622-Valencia-Dr-Boulder-City-NV-89005/7225515_zpid/

bouder city. it was built to house the builders of hoover dam. great schools. super low crime. exremely reasonable real estate. the most beautiful views you can imagine. gambling and marijuana sales not allowed in city (both less than 10 minute drive). mountain trails in your backyard. zero % state taxes (NV). maybe 5 miles from arizona border and hoover dam. 5 minutes to lake mead boating. 30 minutes to the bellagio. 94% white and 4% latin.
21   HeadSet   2020 Sep 16, 6:38am

I toured that area during time off from business trips to Las Vegas. That area is beautiful. I remember seeing some "deer-goats" around, an animal that had a body like a deer but the head of a ram. I also remember that Lake Meade had seriously dropped water levels, hopefully that is not the case anymore.

Its some sort of horned sheep. They hang out at a place called Hemenway park daily in mid afternoon. First thing I thought was "mmmmmm ram barbecoa" but apparently its a huge fine for shooting one.

Unless you see approved legislation or a State-wide mandate to change Forest Management in California, it will be business as usual. I have no hopes that 100 years of mis-management will change overnight.

San Diego County is best California. Less fires, less earthquakes and less retarded Democrats.

Ocean breezes keeping most of the fires and smoke at bay.

When fires routinely jump 10 lane paved highways, I'd like to know what "preparation" and "better management" people have in mind when they demand that.

Right now the Bobcat fire is burning through land that was left a moonscape barely a decade ago in the Station fire.

"Forest management" in practice means "Let logging companies take out all the large old trees while doing fuck-all for actual fire suppression." Residents of Cuddy Valley near my mountain property have been fighting one of these programs.

Controlled burns and forest raking to prevent the build up of mass that can create a fire that can cross a 10 lane highway, plus fire breaks to isolate small fires before they grow larger. Also limited logging of larger trees would reduce the burnable mass. Why do you want to keep the hands off policy going that results in massive fires? And Newsome style blaming of global warming will do nothing to fix the issue, while proper forest management will.

Easy. Controlled burns of underbrush and periodic logging of areas that prevent fires from jumping. Europe has been doing this successfully for decades. The summers are equally hot but why do fires only rage on leftoid west coast? The answer is clear. Corruption and mismanagement. In fact in Oakland instead of removing underbrush they are logging trees and spraying Monsantos shit all over the place poisoning animals and humans while most fires were originally all underbrush and bush fires. You cannot trust leftoids.

The Indians native to California (and indeed, across the Midwest and Northeast too) regularly burned the prairie and forests to prevent fires and manage the forests.

Lois and Clark reported nothing but fires when they crisscrossed the continent.

"Easy!" says the guy who obviously has zero expertise in wildland management. Do you even read the post you responded to? Uncontrolled 100% burned areas are burning again today. Fire jumped the 101 freeway in the same area near Calabasas 2 years in a row. It would probably be less costly and difficult to bring 50 cubic miles of water from the asteroid belt to Earth than to 100% "rake" millions of acres of wild land for 1 year, much less every year forever.

Oh please. When conservatives start spouting far left Earth First level propaganda to support the cause du jour it's especially pathetic. They set fires just to flush out game, with no means to control much less extinguish them once set. They "used every part of the animal" not so much out of respect for nature as economic necessity dictated by their hunter gatherer social structure and lack of technology and surplus.

The Western US has been getting gradually more and more arid over millenia, and anthropogenic global warming has accelerated the process within our own lifetimes. "controlled burns" would have very different outcomes 500, even 100 years ago. Check out the average age and replacement rates of plants like pinyon or bristlecone pines and joshua trees.

It's true I'm not a forest mgmt expert but I actually know at least two or three in Europe and they are shaking their head at the CA mismanagement. There's so much more wrong, PG & E, arson, but it's all linked to corrupt leftoid politicians. Occam's razor dictates equally worse wildfires should rage in southern Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy. Or even in other states. But they don't. Easy to figure out why. Even Colorado does a 100 times better job in fire prevention than CA or Oregon.
