Why are so many Hollywood type abject nutjobs? I truly don't want to know ANYTHING about these people except their on-screen work. Pretty much. The cost benefit analysis of a celebrity pissing off a large chunk of their fans is blatantly obvious. Taylor and Johnson got paid a lot. They didn't do it for free that's for sure.

Actually, Wookie, I think these celebs do these endorsements out of some misguided moral sense, perhaps provided by their coterie of suspect "friends" and "advisors" urging them to "go public" for their cause. But, payola works too. An Arab price can get Mariah Carey to perform a private 2 hour show for a few million bucks. Going the distance to get an endorsement is just a means to -any- end for these people. The Celebs might weigh this against their fan base - how many can I piss off before I lose too many followers or get -gasp- cancelled?!??

I have zero proof, but all I'll say is no way they do it out of moral sense. When you're famous you're a brand no different than McDonalds. There's zero reason to endorse either candidate in this political climate without it hurting your career. They're being paid. The Rock acts like a genuine guy, but he's a money hungry mother fucker. Look at all the work he's done. Good on him for hustling and getting the opportunity, but don't think for a second that he WASN'T paid to endorse Biden and it was his own will.

Dan will be pissed, but Swift may actually be dumb enough to endorse without compensation. Oh wait, she's dumb enough for stumbling into politics and talking out her ass constantly.

Money talks. I'd do it too if I had that type of notoriety. That said, I do think the famous people that backed someone out of the gate are more genuine. Like the James Woods type for Trump. I honestly can't think of any even C level actor for Biden that did out the gate, but I'm sure there's someone. lol.
