Hmmm... I like a good comedy as well as the next guy, but that monologue in the OP at best was mildly amusing.

Dipping the toes back into actual old fashioned comedy waters, walking up that fine line and teasing it. If he doesn't lose them from the cancel culture piranhas I would be surprised.
Basically, progressives, like the old fashioned revolutionaries, have absolutely no sense of humor at all, thus all the un-funny comedians and cancel shit. They are generally grimly biindered in their psychopathic goals.
I noticed over the years that there are actually a segment of people who don't laugh, smile, or joke at anything, and they feel mentally threatened by humor. Because of that, and because you couldn't always tell who they were, I strictly limited joking of any kind in my business.

Agreed. He had to tame it down likely for NBC and SNL though and I'm sure he said some "unapproved" jokes. Still, you don't see that on major network TV anymore which is why I thought it was good. It's a move in the right direction that's for sure. I'm not a super big fan of Burr, but I appreciate someone at least calling out the bull shit going on.

Yeah, Covid TV if you watch it is bad. The late night shows without audiences are downright cringe worthy. Half the jokes fall with a thud and the host isn't used to not getting a reaction from a crowd. Then there's sports with piped in crowd noise like the NFL. Just open the fuck back up and if needed add a pandemic clause to the ticket contract. Covid entertainment blows. Hence why ratings are generally down everywhere.
