What the more recent an active user has registered?
When I see new names, I don't know if they are regulars that changed their names, or a new registration.
If you click on a user's name or icon, you'll be taken to a page of their posts which has their registration date, like this: "joined 2005 Apr 3, 9:31am"
I could ban user name changes, but sometimes there are legit reasons.
"I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member."
Do you have to register to read?
I’d like to share posts and articles here. But I cannot since registration is required.
No registration is required to read the site. Reading is open to all.
Had to look up my account. 11 years as a member. How long has this website been active?
Is the exclusive club a temporary thing until the election is over, or permanent?

I really do suspect some people are paid to disrupt forums like this.
In 2004 I started writing about the Bay Area housing market.
In 2005 I started taking comments.
Has AF made any referrals yet?
I could add a new database table like:
namechanges
===========
namechange_id
namechange_datetime
namechange_user_id
namechange_old_name
namechange_new_name
And then show that on the user's profile page.
Are we going to be assigned smoking jackets and padded Victorian lounge chairs?
Will we have an open market and transferable equity stake in our membership?
When I leave heirs my Patnet membership in my will, does it include all ignores past and present, or does it start out with a clean slate?
Are Patnet memberships guaranteed Covid free, or will monogrammed masks be issued?
Of course! You can sell your membership for whatever you can get for it. But if you sell it to an asshole, I may ban him.
Yeah, what happened? I miss him. I noticed he was in moderation then stopped posting.

So I've made invitation by email request only. If any of you regulars mail me the email address of a friend who wants to join and copy that person, then good, they're in (unless I know for a fact that have been previously booted for being an asshole).
Also, anyone can just mail me personally if they don't know another user on the forum and want to join, but I'll be a lot more skeptical of that if I don't know them at all.
