He's the first President, who's accepted the post-Cold War era and that it's no longer the USA's business, to be the world's policeman.
In other words, sure, provide military advisors but let locals deal with their own affairs.
With a long term base in Bahrain and another in eastern Turkey, with some 7K advisors total vs today's 34K troops in the entire region, the US can do that for the rest of time.

The truth is that Trump is the first leader since Gerald R. Ford (1974-1977) not to start any shooting. Even Carter initiated U.S. assistance to the Afghan fanatics who ultimately were the ones shooting at US troops over there and protecting Osama bin Laden.
Trump has been an absolutely fantastic president for world peace.
