Government will be paying people to sit on their asses at home, so they can have a liberty to travel to other states and vote. It's still election related lockdowns. Fucked up, but hey if we the people put up with it, that's what we get.

Instead of "Let's all learn to love one another and reconcile" based on the fake news Biden coup, we are back to using Covid as an instrument of social punishment because 'somebody questioned the election results'.

This isn't just the US. It's a bigger plan, and it's world-wide. They intend to crush the economy in order to garner buy-in for UBI. Forced vaccinations will be part of it.

Unless there's some mass-awakening some time soon, there's a good chance they'll get away with it. It's hard to believe how many people around here have bought into this mask/distancing/closure propaganda. Nobody questions anything. Critical thinking is gone. It's a constant stream of media dogma coming from their mouths. "Cases! Cases!", "anti-maskers should be fined!", "The science(tm)! The science(tm)!"

My faith in humanity was never great, but it's at an all-time low right now.

Where I live we are now purple.

The kids were going to school for 2 days a week and Zoomclassing another 2. Thursday is tutoring day. The work is so easy that they don't need tutoring. They are in school for 12 hours a week and online for another 12. Homework is negligible.

Now the county says that because of the new danger from covid the kids are going to go back to completely online starting the week after Thanksgiving. The cold that is so dangerous that you must be tested to know if you have it and that kills less than 3 people for every 100,000 that become infected is so dangerous that the kids can go to school for a couple more weeks before WE MUST LOCK THEM DOWN FOR SAFETY.

Do these colour coded danger levels remind anyone of the fear porn colors from earlier this century?

The war on poverty put poor young men out of the house. The war on drugs militarized the police. The war on terror justified the surveillance state. This war on the invisible enemy has governments all over the world locking up their people and imposing senseless and draconian rules upon them. Once again the cure kills more than the disease.

It's not about public safety. It's about control.

Part of the country is scared to death of the invisible enemy. Part is just going along to get along. There is also a part of the country that sees the continuing fascism and trembles at the thought that we are close to civil war.

Does anyone remember when the color coded terror alerts went away?

I remember when they were being used. Whenever the Bush administration was caught doing some fucking shitty thing, the terror alert always went up.

It's amazing that 15 years ago, most of the people I hung out with made fun of the obvious bullshit, but 15 years later, oh, the media can be entirely trusted and the gubermint is your friend.

I don't think the CCP realized just how amazing a simple "oops from the lab" could be. Wait until next time, when the "oops" already has a vaccine ready to go ... for $5 trillion. Forget nukes. This is germ warfare.

That is correct. The color coded terror levels ended when Obama was elected.

The war on terror continued. The press continued their complicity. Slow growth and low employment was proclaimed the "new normal". From the top down racial tensions were inflamed and terrorism spread. Endless wars raged on. Stable regimes were replaced with chaos and anarchy.

Either we're in the middle of an attempted coup and the 5D chess playing Don will finally spring his trap. Or Trump was just a hired actor furthering the drama of this political theatre. We should know before Xmas.

I wish I was not so cynical. Ignorance is a bliss that ends abruptly.

I know the pain of cynicism, but there's a joy to it as well. Being right when everybody else is wrong, there's a small joy to it.

I'd rather know the truth and be miserable, than to believe a lie and be happy.

I don't know what Trump is, an actor or the real deal - I no longer bother to make up my mind when I have incomplete information. We won't know what he was for years, regardless of if he wins or loses.

I still don't know a single person who got ill from Wuhan Virus.

Not one.

Funny how all the inquiries, thoughts, and conspiracy theories on how Covid started sort of went away. Only Australia is asking for a UN/WHO whodunnit probe. China is really playing the trade cards against them and seem to have bought off anyone else who wanted to take a look.

Serious question: who would raise the terror alert and why? To divert attention? Whose attention? Wouldn't whoever caught Bush doing the fuckery simply stay on task instead of fall for the diversion?

1. student in my class got sick in spring (light flu type corona)
2. a close friend pharmacist who works in hospital (medium severity case)
3. doctor friend of mine, lady in her 60's, very light case

The media is bullshit propaganda.

There was a time when some blatant corruption, like Enron, would actually make headlines just because everybody knew about it so the "news" would cover it in order to maintain their legitimacy - then the scary "terror alert" would go up, and the "news" had an excuse to report breathlessly that our fearless leaders diverted yet another attack.

Now, they just don't give a damned about their legitimacy.

Since when did Patrick.net become Twitter? Are my eyes deceiving me?

18   GNL   2020 Nov 18, 6:42am

I have heard multiple stories of people getting the Wu-Flu. I personally know 1 person who got it. Every story I heard of was people over 60 getting it. All of them recovered.

THIS IS THE FLU BRO

I was just being flippant and making a joke.

The great thing about all of Big Tech betraying the country is that it's opened an ENORMOUS opportunity for small tech.

It's a good joke @richwicks

I thought about implementing a "disputed" link for each comment, but I think it would briefly get wildly overused, and then not used at all.

My top concern for the site should probably be getting a live mirror going somewhere, so the intolerant Left will have to take down two sites instead of one.

I was suggesting it only to add irony. Make every post disputed, or whatnot. It's all fake anyhow.

People who discuss their opinions, of course somebody is going to dispute it. The point of the Internet is there is no "authority".

I can explain and have, at length, why the US went to war with Syria. Genie Energy wants to mine the oil resources of the Golan Heights, Israel wants the Golan Heights for expansion, water rights since the Golan has a significant amount of fresh water, etc - that will be "disputed" by our government. What cannot be disputed is that Genie Energy is in the Golan to mine petrochemicals, that Israel wants to have complete and undisputed ownership of the Golan Heights, and there's a bit of water there. The motivations of why the US is at war with Syria can be disputed, but the parties that are advantaged by the war, that cannot be disputed.

I believe, properly I think, that the parties that are advantaged by a war, are the ones that principle start it. It's my conclusion here, that is "disputed".

I'm just saying, for fun, maybe ridicule the propagandists - but everybody here would have to know it's just ridicule, otherwise they may be offended and just leave.
