Poststructuralism believes language has embedded within it Oppression(tm).
This is why Leftists are obsessed with changing language, like pedophile to MAP.
It also means the time for debate is over. In pre-1960s America, and for a while after with most people, you could have a debate, often one side would lose, and the winning side gain authority over their contestants for presenting facts and reason - through language - better.
But now that we have a huge segment of our society believing in Postmodernism, they write off debate loses - if they even bother to debate - as simply being "victimized" by the "Oppression" of Old White Male "Language".
Too many Patriots are still thinking they can William F Buckley/Thomas Sowell/Ben Shapiro the crazy shit away by presenting reason and facts. We can't. We have to win and impose, sorry, a mildly patriarchical, conservative bent to all our institutions by power of law and public purse.
