That's not a bad thing though. You should speak at least one other language (basic, no need to be proficient) to broaden your chances of employment in general and to better institute an exit plan from the US of A if the shit hits the fan. Teachers should have qualifications, too. If you apply for a job in the private sector and have similar qualifications as another candidate but they want to send you on an overseas business trip once in a while you will likely get the job if you speak on of their languages. That is a point totally separate from opposing unfettered immigration which most people on here do, and rightfully so. But most public teachers credentials aren't that great these days if all they can teach your kids is crt and blm. Also I don't see any teachers working, they're all hiding behind zomg!covid! and striking while getting paid.

Do not confuse cosmopolitan "man of the world" bilingual with having to know Spanish to get a job in the USA. And "no need to be proficient" will not cut it against a individual who grew up speaking Spanish. It will be like Hialeah or Quebec, where those not proficient in Spanish or French respectively need not apply.
