My wife's cousin, age 60 or so.

It was no problem, she was not really ill, and she was back at work in two weeks.

Aside from that, I know no one who was confirmed infected, and certainly no one who was seriously ill from Wuhan Flu, much less dead from it.

I am a real estate photographer in the DC area. A few thoughts...

1) I meet a lot of people in a lot of different industries.
2) The best part about my business is talking to interesting people.
3) The closer these people work to Covid, the MUCH more likely they are to NOT mask. This includes
nurses. I have met at least 4 nurses who did not mask. For example: Just this week I met one person
who works for a company called atcc (it's a bio company) and she, her children, the agent and myself
were not maskers. Another example: Just this week, I met a man, his wife and his children (children are
always home of course) were not maskers. He works for the DOD in the division that deals with nuclear
and chemical warfare. Both of these people impressed upon me that this is way overblown. They did not
say those exact word.
4) An agent I spoke with just today, said she, her mother, father, husband and child all got the wuflu.
All of them are fine. She said she got it the worst.
5) Whenever I ask someone who had the wuflu what was it like, all I ever hear is "It was terrible".
6) I've had the flu 3 times in my life. Each time I was bedridden for at least 4 days. The last time it
was a whole week. Each time "It was terrible".
7) Every time I had the flu, the symptoms lingered for another week AFTER I was able to go back to work.
8) I still have not heard the difference between the wuflu and the types of flu that I've had.
My symptoms were headaches so bad it felt like my eyes were going to pop out when I coughed
sneezed or blew my nose. I could not get any good sleep because it was hard to breath from
congestion. My lungs and chest felt like they were on fire.
2   clambo   2020 Dec 4, 8:19pm

As “deadly pandemics” go, it’s pretty weak.

I know one person who reported symptoms: headaches, the shits.

It sounds like a hangover in Mexico.
3   just_passing_through   2020 Dec 4, 8:42pm

Yeah, for me it was like a bad flu for 3 days. Then the next 4 days it came and went. So I bought ribs to smoke over the weekend cos I "didn't feel like going out". (This was mid-Jan btw)

I started up my gas grill with some wood on the side, because I have no room for a real smoker.

Came about maybe 20mins later and though, damn, it's not smoking, but then I noticed the smoke and the fact that I couldn't smell shit. By then I was nearly over it but I couldn't fucking smell the smoke!

That's about it. I'm back to my super smeller self.
4   Rin   2020 Dec 5, 12:44pm

I know a number of ppl who'd tested positive, as their jobs required weekly tests, and the most that it was, was a chest cold, not even a killer flu.
5   stfu   2020 Dec 5, 4:59pm

But what does a positive test even mean? The PCR test is being misused and because the US runs like 40 cycles it will almost always result in a false positive - even if you have COVID in quantities too small to be infected or infect anyone else.

Take this with the FACT (per CDC data) that more people died YTD in 2019 then YTD 2020. Is there even a Virus or is this just total b.s.?

Did the deep thinkers sit down in 2018 and dream up the perfect excuse for mail in ballots? I'm starting to wonder.
6   FortwayeAsFuckJoeBiden   2020 Dec 5, 5:00pm

We had it. Wasn’t big deal.

I know several people who tested positive, didn’t know they had it. Shit is just not dangerous to most people.

One of the most underrated trash foods out there. Love me some hot pockets when I do a trip with my buddies. Cheap and easy to make.

I went 'hogging' once when I was 18 with my pal. Never ever again man. Crack kills. Nothing but hot or I'm not every since then. Most of my pals would fuck a gorilla with enough drinks in them. It's one of the ways I distinguish myself...

I don't think this is true. When I looked at cdc website I saw about 200k extra deaths this year. What am I missing?

Please post links when quoting stats like this

Wasn't 2018. People likely started thinking about this scenario in the 80's. The mail in ballot thing might be new, but using a virus for political gain and obviously warfare has been around for a while.

If it's really from China and if it was by accident or on purpose we should have already obliterated China. The CCP needs to go. You cannot allow a country to do what they did again. And it will happen again. As likely a lame duck, Trump should just bomb the fuck out of their South China Sea manmade islands, so there's little to no civilian losses to send a message. The fact some Chinese Ass Hoe can literally shut down entire industries across the globe should scare everyone. They need to pay for it.
14   BlueGrass   2020 Dec 6, 7:02am

WookieMan is right. Americans should be ultra pissed at China's leaders.(not the Chinese already here) instead as long as they buy crap from them cheaply they're alright.
I noticed the box of cheaply made cloth masks from China (had lots of chinese symbols/letters) at WellsFargo and brought it to the teller's attention. She, said, now ain't that ironic.

My relatives older sister (black) in her 70's was hospitalized. She has diabetes, high BP, etc.. She had the whole nine yards. She was released the other day. No hydroxychloroquine that I was told. I honestly don't see a need for everyone to take the vaccine (not me either). Just get your ass in tip top healthy shape, eat right and don't be in places where you may get sick. similar to the flu, be ultra vigilant. Sure some will get the flu or CV-19 bad (and die) even with all the safety measures. Outdoor concerts and sports events need to continue. Life must go on.
15   B.A.C.A.H.   2020 Dec 6, 10:28am

I lost two cousins. Their sibling is gravely ill from it.

An otherwise healthy inlaw young woman and her partner got horribly sick but did not have to be hospitalized.

A different inlaw, a healthy young man who is a prison guard in Northern California, was asymptomatic but tested positive in a routine testing of employees and "guests" at the prison.

Sorry for your loss. I check my old neighborhood online group every morning to see if I have lost any more friends. Comes with getting old.

Were your cousins old? Did they have comorbidities? Did Covid-19 snatch them from the prime of their life?
17   Onvacation   2020 Dec 6, 11:02am

We are taking the life's of millions of children in this country. they are getting inferior education and are being taught to be fearful of other people. Even though only about a thousand school age (including college) children, almost all with serious comorbidities, have died from this "pandemic".

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; our country was founded on freedom. Let people be free to live their lives as they feel fit.

The deaths have been exaggerated. If you are old, vulnerable, or scared you have the right to mask or hide in your basement. You do not have the right to tell me how to live my life.
18   Blue   2020 Dec 6, 11:41am

Few months ago. I experienced short breath particularly night times for two days. It must be Wuhan Flu. Anyone can beat it with just regular exercise, good diet and sleep that everyone knows.

All three of them are in 70's. Otherwise healthy, the only comorbidity they had was living in mask-denying rural Kansas trump country.

You should at realize that masks make no difference? Places with masks do same as no masks. Which sort of shows that this makes no difference.

Living in Kansas is a pretty serious comorbidity.

Do you think we should destroy the country in attempt to stop some old people from dying?

Sorry for the loss B.A.C.A.H. My take is harsh, so don't be pissed, but at that age they should have just stayed home. Gotten groceries delivered and stayed home as much as possible. I've seen my own mother (67) just 3 times this year. Kids don't hug or touch her during those visits. It sucks, but it's the precaution we take.

If you just sit at home you can't get Covid. It is the only solution for those that don't want to get it or have concerns about getting it. A mask makes zero difference as it can be transmitted on surfaces as well, which everyone is constantly adjusting their masks after touching surfaces while in public. We'll find out in the coming months and years that masks actually made this worse. Bookmark this and call me out later, but I'm convinced of this. The data doesn't lie. Media just ignores data though which is unfortunate.

The other reality is that we still need first responders. It's a must have. We need grocery stores. The virus is out. There's really nothing we can do to stop it outside of forcing everyone in the entire world to stay home for 14 days or whatever the transmissible period is. Not happening. So just gotta learn to live with it.

TL:DR - Stay home if you don't want to catch a virus.
26   Bitcoin   2020 Dec 7, 6:51am

I know about 15 people who had it. Some were asymptomatic, some had mild symptoms including the impact to their smell / taste.
My uncle had it (he is pretty fit and in good shape for his age). He said it felt like a severe flu and the worst was the cough and the feeling of someone sitting on his chest. He recovered and is fine now. My wife's grandpa had it as well and he is in his 90's. He is also in relatively good shape for his age and recovered.
Two people I know (confirmed cases) died. Both of them were extremely overweight. One was in his 40's, the other one in his 60's.
To me, nothing has changed since the beginning.....if you have underlying conditions you are in trouble with Covid/Flu/Whatever. If you are relatively healthy, even old, you have a good chance of recovering well from Covid.

They did stay home.

The brother's vision was so impaired that he had to quit driving a long time ago (and no, it was not impaired from diabetes).

His sister had broke her leg in recent weeks, so she was immobilized at home and also could not drive. Because the sister was temporarily immobilized and the brother can barely see, they had their stuff delivered (groceries, etc) to the house, and a cleaning lady come one or two times per month. Minding their own business and staying home like they should, though maybe not for the reason they should (it is, after all, mask-denying, it's-all-a-hoax trump country).

I suppose one of them caught it from the (asymptomatic) cleaning lady, and then gave it to their sibling. Or maybe the cleaning lady felt sick but worked anyway because she needed the money. We haven't heard if she got sick later or tested positive or whatever. It's rural Kansas.

Their sister who is gravely ill lives in a different town in rural Kansas.

I wish those who are so frightened by the virus were as empathetic towards all suffering as they are to those who get this flu. If we took cancer this seriously, or diabetes, Americans would be in MUCH better health.

Diabetes is one thing. Cancer has nothing to do with health though. Lost a neighbor that was 37 years old and she got breast cancer. Was in great shape, didn't smoke or drink. My dad got lung cancer and didn't smoke a day in his life and was a white collar worker. So no exposure to airborne stuff like asbestos in construction or lead.

I agree though that Americans and humans in 1st world countries could be much healthier. Part of the problem is the medical field and insurance system. Haven't even started physical therapy, but I've got $1,500 in bills for a fractured heel. It's my foot and I need to move, so obviously I needed to get it treated. But if there's a minor concern I have, I'm way less likely to go to the doc until it becomes a real problem. I also feel like docs throw pills at problems and don't give real solutions. The whole field has been corrupted. Only ones I really trust are the ER guys and gals and EMT's. Their sole job is to keep you alive. My foot doc is a complete joke and he's highly rated apparently.

Many who are among the most "cautious" catch it and the asymptomatic route is just grasping at straws to explain it. It's very likely that many are immune and that there are plenty of other routes of infection, possibly more contagious than person to person, i.e. sewer/sanitary or touch. Everybody I know who doesn't give a shit hasn't caught it yet and at least 25% of those I know who are very cautious and follow the voodoo guidelines have caught it. Truth is the research on CV is excruciatingly slow, likely on purpose and those claiming new developments and findings are silenced. The longer this goes on the more it smells like a political hack job around a common respiratory virus. FACT is almost everything one has been told so far by the CDC/Fauxci and the idiot "experts" is either a wild guess or a deliberate lie.

I think it's touch/surfaces without any scientific backing from my end. If there's not a sign on the door to wear a mask, I don't. I've hung out at bars, played sand volleyball with randoms, flown to 7 or so airports, rented cars, etc. Just spent a week in Mexico mask free 100% (awesome) and nothing. I'd get a squirt of hand sanitizer whenever I'd see a dispenser.

When I "mask" I wear a thin neck gaiter. I have a big nose, so it stays really secure, lol. So I'm not touching my face constantly adjusting it. Again, no evidence, but I think surfaces and messing with your mask are bigger problems than hanging out in a bar or restaurant. Pretty much everyone I know that got it is somewhat a mask nazi. Hence why I think touching/surfaces is the primary transmitter of the virus.
