In a stunning announcement, the City of San Francisco has tweeted that it is moving to Texas. "We have been looking for a new home for some time," said Mayor London Breed. "And we think we've found one in Austin."
Now poor Texas is going to have to move somewhere else. Is Greenland still for sale? If they think the cattle ranches smelled bad, just wait till Frisco gets there.

reminds me of a classmate in an in-house technical training class in the 1990's here in "Silicon Valley". A few of the students were "local", but mostly they came from different parts of the US, also Europe and Asia. (attention travel industry stockholders: this was in the 1990's. Nowadays the class would be held by videoconference).
This young man looked every bit the part a Bay Area Hipster would derisively describe as "bubba-ish".
He was from San Antonio. He was based in San Antonio, but had to perform his work for the company in Austin frequently. He didn't like Austin. Too much like SF, he said, too many gays (but, of course, he used a pejorative). He just couldn't stand that gays were tolerated in Austin. I remember his words, where he was from, if they saw what's tolerated in Austin "we'd pull over our truck and beat their asses."
