It's that time again! For the 16th year, the Radio Dismkue internet radio station will be broadcasting for six hours beginning at 9:00 p.m. CST, playing the original recordings from our collections of 78 RPM records from around 1920 to 1935 and making commentary on them. We will play in every time zone until 3:00 a.m., then the show will play in a repeating loop on New Year's Day if you can't hear the whole show tonight. Since New Year's 2010 going into 2011 we have pre-recorded the broadcast in a range of homes and hotel suites, but this year we did it via conference call and it went off without a single problem. The only downside was that many of us have received many new records during the year we would have liked to have showcased, but that was not possible. Dismuke has many of our records digitized from previous shows but not yet put into the play rotation which plays 24/7. He sent me the files of my records, I would choose the one I wanted to play and he would simply play it from the master file. We'll have to wait until next year for our newly acquired records. In the meantime, you can listen to radiodismuke 24/7 all over the world any time you please. We have been operating as a listener supported non-profit going on four years to great success, even in this pandemic year. Here is one of the records that I will play, a rare recording commissioned by General Motors in 1927 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Oldsmobile brand and be given as a complimentary gift at that year's Detroit Auto Show/. He chose probably the most popular band of the Detroit area for this recording. In the personnel you'll hear the famous jazz cornet player Bix Beiderbecke. After the vocal, the orchestra plays the tune straight while Bix does his own thing this on his cornet:

Thanks @NDrLoR I've got it on while wife makes black-eyes peas and breaded fish for new year's eve.

Beats the hell out of NPR or BBC woke propaganda.
