My wife wanted to go out this past weekend, so did some generic searches on activities, and checked the local reddit. Was a bit shocked by how many tattle-tales are on reddit, trying to rat out people in their communities. But was also quite pleased. Thanks to their bitching, we found out about a restaurant that doesn't require masks, and has indoor seating.

Also, was surprised in general to see that a lot more stuff was open than what I thought. Apparently the Covid-affect is a lot more Matrix-like than I'd imagined.

You can go lodge in NV, and you can ski on either side.

Covid exhaustion attrition. In Santa Cruz, some of the shuttered places down by the beach are kind of inching towards inside/outside restaurants again. If the gestapos don't shut them down, they will eventually normalize due to inertias.

Do people enjoy the torture? Even if they are afraid enough to conform, eventually they just get tired and want to act normal again.

Reddit is known as "hive-mind" for a reason. It's chock-full of collectivists, conformists, statists, and commies. Some of the more technical/specific sub-reddits are okay if the users are people who keep their politics out of the topics, but steer clear of anything distinctly political (/r/all, /r/politics, /r/worldnews, /r/$YOUR_CITY_HERE etc..) Those boards are full of absolute idiocy and trash.

And yet, Reddit is allowed hosting by Amazon Web Services, but Parler is not. Funny.

But they are still operating illegally. A whole new class of criminals have been created.

Covidimals?
Coronamils?
Wuhan Gangsters?

I suggest reading Denninger's article today on communism. He defines it not as an economic system, but as "simply a two-class system in which members of The Party are not bound by any law whatsoever provided the persons or rights abused are among Non-Party Members, all of whom are declared not human and thus not entitled to even the basic humane treatment of a farm animal being raised for food."

Pretty accurately describes the mechanics of any communist nation and exactly what we see going on around us. It's also why you can't use any apparatus that's been commandeered by communists in order to fight them, such as the courts. They don't care about the law, and they don't care if you're in the right, or have proof, evidence, or scientific backing. The vast majority of those fighting these bans in the courts will lose. I'd put money on it.

You will find the same system described in the Talmud

I actually see people sailing the Bay with masks on.

#idiocracy

PS. I was planning to take formal sailing lessons in order to be able to bareboat but I'm not fucking doing it wearing a fucking mask. I'll need to ask them upfront if mask is required when out on the Bay.

Thanks @NuttBoxer !

We are also desperate to find things to do as humans with faces and not masks, and this is a good tip. Look for people complaining about maskless humans with faces, and go there and patronize those restaurants and those events!

Nextdoor might be good for this too. Full of Karens! I love the idea of using their own shrieking to defeat them.

At first I was a bit shocked and disappointed to see people being so petty, but then I had that moment of clarity...

Yes, it's brilliant!

Can you say which restaurant here @NuttBoxer ? It's OK if you don't want to, but I'd be happy if everyone supported them.

They're in San Diego. Not sure if anyone on here is ever down that far south. But if you are, speak up, and I'd be happy to share the info.

There’s a few bars and restaurants open in OC. Anywhere pro Republican basically. So some coastal places as well as the ethnic locations... have a number of locations open.

Fuck Newsome.

Kayaking. It's socially distant, no mask required. Done it with my partner and look forward to another outing.
17   NuttBoxer   2021 Jan 12, 10:02am

Also surfing, although it's never as distanced as I wish it were.

When you drive up to Tahoe on 50 as soon as you leave Sacramento area and head to the mountains it's Trump country. He had more support in CA than many would think but the population is so much denser in the cities os their votes clobber the rural areas.

Any recommendations? I’m in Orange County and the wife has been complaining that we haven’t been on a date in forever...

Take the day off. Make her a picnic lunch with a French baguette, wine and cheese, whatever she loves. Go to some remote park with a view. Beach is nice. She just needs a break - outdoors.

Same in East San Diego county.

Went to a local brewery on Saturday. We normally go to the one across the street, but they were only doing delivery/pickup, and we wanted to eat out. Heard about a few other places we have yet to try, and noticed some restaurants where we live are just done period, and seem to have gone full indoor again. Looking forward to patronizing more "rule-breakers" next weekend.
23   NuttBoxer   2021 Jan 24, 10:29pm

It was pretty wet and cold this weekend, so didn't get out much. But did manage to make it in to a local place for some dine-in action. From what I can tell it looks like about 80% of the restaurants were we live are fully open, no restrictions. And I can tell you for a fact they aren't getting any special treatment from the government.

Get busy living, or get busy dying...
