Upset with the state's decision to shut down outdoor dining this past December, a consortium of over 50 restaurants, wineries, tasting rooms and suppliers across Napa and Sonoma counties has filed a lawsuit Tuesday against California Gov. Gavin Newsom, The Chronicle reported. The group of restaurant owners says there is "no rational basis" for the ban on outdoor dining, calling December's order "arbitrary, irrational, and unfair."

Pointing to the lack of scientific evidence stating that outdoor dining furthers the spread of COVID-19 — among other issues with the ban — the lawsuit says December's shutdown order constitutes a violation under the California Constitution's equal protection and due process.

"The greatest catastrophe of this ban is that it is senseless," the lawsuit reads in part. "It has no scientific basis, does nothing to protect public safety, and, in fact, likely undermines public health. Its only effect is to ravage the region’s businesses, community members, and workers."

Newsom is named in the lawsuit, along with Tomás Aragón, the state's public health officer and director of the California Department of Public Health. The Napa and Sonoma county businesses involved in the lawsuit include Filippi's Pizza Grotto, Canard Vineyard, Trancas Steakhouse, Farmhouse Inn and others.

Wonder how many restauranteurs, who catered to the rich SF liberals that visited Napa/Sonoma, voted for Newsom and his lackeys?
We have been trying to recall our local school board. Parents who support re-opening the schools can't believe the intransigence of the board and the power of the union.
They get defensive when I ask for whom they voted. :)
The "let them play" and "re-open schools" groups - their eyes have been opened but it is too late.

Crazy times...

We need more of this. Starting hitting all these pro-lockdown people where it hurts, their wallets. Anyone who violates your Constitutional freedoms, file a civil suit. But in the meantime, don't close down.

Several of the restaurants in our little town seem to have opened for indoor dining, one of them even posted a big protest sign in their parking lot. This goes away when we stop obeying.

Gandhi: Yes. In the end, you will walk out, because 100,000 Englishmen simply cannot control 350,000,000 Indians if those Indians refuse to cooperate. And that is what we intend to achieve: peaceful, nonviolent, non-cooperation -- till you, yourselves, see the wisdom of leaving.

We need MASS civil disobedience, and the ability to get each case distributed to the public in spite of the tech oligarch ban on truth.

Each righteous person who stands up inspires others. That is why it is so important to NOT wear a mask outdoors. It is scientifically useless, only a psychological method of instilling fear.

When you show you are not afraid, others will join you.

Just a reminder that Ghandi also said one of the greatest evils Great Brittan committed was disarming Indians.
