They can't stop senators from doing so. They can't say "he incited riot by asking the people to peacefully march to the Capitol". I mean, they can, but this is obvious bullshit and won't hold any water. So they will be forced to argue that "his false claims wrt election integrity made the crowd violent". And this is where the can of worms can be pried open. Provided there will be a senator willing to pry the fucking thing.

Never looked her up. Politics is purely nepotism at most levels, so I just figured his niece (if he has one) worked for him in some manner. Either way, they're delaying the impeachment so Biden can trash the country via Congress now instead of EO's. So that should be fun.

The Dems? I don't think so. They're going to make every effort to get this done in my opinion.

There is no there, there on this though. It's a risky gamble on the Dems part to even do this, but we all know they're stupid. They're about to give an ex-president the floor in the Senate via attorneys to absolutely trash anyone and everyone. This would be the only reason the Dems drop it or intentionally vote on it knowing they cannot convict. Then give the media their cue cards and call it "unity" after they literally were dividing rhetorically and physically for 4 years. So you're right with the message of unity, but the real reason is we all know they're scared.

Basically there's ZERO risk for Trump. He has all the leverage. He'd be ~78 in 2024. So he doesn't run. He's going to write a book and will sell 80M copies and probably more. After the Twitter and FB shit, you know he's going to start some network. Again, he'll get millions to join/follow it. He found out how truly rigged the game is and likely doesn't want to play it that way. He could potentially be more effective outside of office than in.
