The Supreme Court has effectively shut down two lawsuits alleging that former President Donald Trump was violating the Constitution by profiting from his public office, the court said Monday.

...

One of the suits, brought by the group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, along with New York area restaurant owners and workers, was filed days after Trump took office in 2017. The other was filed in June of that year by the attorneys general of the District of Columbia and Maryland.
After more than three years in the courts, neither case had reached a fact-finding stage.

profiting from his public office

Does Nancy and others who became deca-millionaires only after taking public office really want to open that box? Wonder why they feel they would be immune.

This is why impeachment is a joke. Trump can literally bring up whatever he wants. I don't think it sees the light of day outside the House. They'd be stupid to give Trump free rein to absolutely trash anyone he wants. That's what will happen. As usual, Dems don't use their brains.

This case was born from some Lawyer faggot playing word salad on NPR one day. Never heard of emolument clauses with any politician ever before, until that dink on NPR started lisping about it, like they always do.

I didn't expect this case to ever see the light of day, it would have given precedence to drain the swamp. I said at the time, that if they took out Trump with some bullshit case, that created case precedence. Then that same case logic was used against them. Then as far as I would be concerned. Trump accomplished his mission to drain the swamp.

Supreme Court Decision: "Emoluments, pshaw, WE hold out for a lot more than that bagatelle! Dismissed!"

Trump lost a lot of money and potential money by being president. The rest of the crooks in DC become fabulously rich by being IN office.
