The Department of Justice is showing that it has become a political weapon in the earliest days of the Biden Presidency. The F.B.I. has arrested a pro-Trump meme maker (artist), who now faces a 10-year sentence for posting a comical image four years earlier. They are outright beginning to arrest people for political speech. His graphic supposedly interfered with the election, meanwhile they actually have video of people tampering with ballots for the other side.

Laura Loomer can't buy guns - even though she wasn't even in the country on 1/6

Ok the lsm is saying he tricked close to 5k people into an invalid vote by text scheme. That's very different than posting a cartoon or meme although this is clearly a witchhunt. The truth is probably in the middle.

That mats not illegal. It was an obvious joke. Sad to see Republican Party as usual do nothing, but just complain into the pillow.

So he's being prosecuted for lying? Don't politicians do this every day? Also, isn't lying free speech?

Agreed

How is it possible that the FBI sat on this for four years and is prosecuting only now?

Could it be that the FBI is not interested in enforcing the law, but persecuting political enemies?

Could it be?

Now how can we have any faith in law enforcement?

I like her. I find her odd accent kind of hot.

Stupid gullible people shouldn't vote. If you can't make it to the poll on election day, preregistered, with your ID, you shouldn't vote.

I know we have been going down for decades, but have we reached open tyranny?

It would be nice if you knew the issues and candidates before you voted too.

Exactly. Suddenly 4 years later right after Trump leaves they go after his supporters.

They should take away the blindfold and the balanced scales from the statues of "Justice" in DC.

Because our "law enforcement" is flagrantly unjust now, looking to see who they are prosecuting, and laying a heavy hand on the scales.

There's slam dunk felony convictions that wouldn't take a jury half an hour of a famous politician's son smoking crack, weighing crack, and a picture of getting the crack mailed with a letter of authenticity from the Dark Web supplier.

FBI has had it for over a year, after they told MacIssac's USAF Retired Officer father to "Lawyer Up" and the agent refused to give his name the second time they brought it to the Feds.

Delaware Cops have had it for over 3 months.

The complaint alleges that in 2016, Mackey established an audience on Twitter with approximately 58,000 followers. A February 2016 analysis by the MIT Media Lab ranked Mackey as the 107th most important influencer of the then-upcoming Election, ranking his account above outlets and individuals such as NBC News (#114), Stephen Colbert (#119) and Newt Gingrich (#141).

As alleged in the complaint, between September 2016 and November 2016, in the lead up to the Nov. 8, 2016, U.S. Presidential Election, Mackey conspired with others to use social media platforms, including Twitter, to disseminate fraudulent messages designed to encourage supporters of one of the presidential candidates (the “Candidate”) to “vote” via text message or social media, a legally invalid method of voting.

For example, on Nov. 1, 2016, Mackey allegedly tweeted an image that featured an African American woman standing in front of an “African Americans for [the Candidate]” sign. The image included the following text: “Avoid the Line. Vote from Home. Text ‘[Candidate’s first name]’ to 59925[.] Vote for [the Candidate] and be a part of history.” The fine print at the bottom of the image stated: “Must be 18 or older to vote. One vote per person. Must be a legal citizen of the United States. Voting by text not available in Guam, Puerto Rico, Alaska or Hawaii. Paid for by [Candidate] for President 2016.”

The tweet included the typed hashtags “#Go [Candidate]” and another slogan frequently used by the Candidate. On or about and before Election Day 2016, at least 4,900 unique telephone numbers texted “[Candidate’s first name]” or some derivative to the 59925 text number, which was used in multiple deceptive campaign images tweeted by the defendant and his co-conspirators.

Do we have the First Amendment or don't we?

Is there somewhere in the First Amendment that says we have to tell the truth all the time? Or can't make jokes? Or have to be conscious of the profound stupidity and gullibility of much of the general public?

My brother-in-law was a policeman for decades. I was quite surprised when he told me that lying is a normal police tactic. "Put down the gun and we won't arrest you." That's perfectly fine for the police to say, legally. And then they arrest the guy, all the time. Many idiots fall for it. Were their rights violated?

There's an Asian Democrat Chick who did a video in a MAGA hat urging Republicans to vote on Election Wednesday and that they could just text their vote, also.

Not charged by the Feds (as if that needed saying)

We reached it decades ago. Ever see the "free speech zones" during the 2nd Iraq War?

The country actually ended on September 11, 2001. If you can't accept and see this, well, you can't accept and see it.

I don’t think it’s over yet. Flame of liberty might not be bright, but it is still burning in our hearts man.
