Three genes inherited from Neanderthals slash the risk of severe Covid-19 by 22 per cent, a new study has revealed. ...

Researchers compared the DNA of 2,200 Covid-19 patients from around the world with the genes of three Neanderthals that lived 50,000, 70,000 and 120,000 years ago.

They found people with Neanderthal versions of the genes OAS1, OAS2 and OAS3 were less likely to develop severe symptoms after infection with the coronavirus.

These genes produce enzymes which specifically target invading RNA viruses, and the Neanderthal version is thought to be more potent.

Sub-saharan black people have no Neanderthal DNA. This may be why black Americans have about twice the probability of dying from Wuhan virus that white or Asian people do.

Asians come from "Denisovans" (or "Asian Neanderthals").

They evolved from Pekingman and Javaman, rather than Neanderthals.

I think Denisovan, is the common species or part of the Human evolution.
I don't even believe the out of Africa theory. I believe the DNA in their ancestors, was already baked into the Species they evolved from.
I believe Humanoids have been hitting anything on two legs, from the first day the could stand on two legs.
They didn't have morals and religion forbidding them from fucking what ever they could cramp their junk in.
The Dominant human DNA kept winning the gene wars, where ever it went. Even today we're still breeding out races and cultures.
People may look back someday at very old pictures of Traditional Folk around the world. And those people will seem so Alien to them, that they would appear to be another species.

Africans do have a little Neanderthal DNA, I think
Can't find reference without electricity though

What about alien DNA from the Greys who fucked our Cro-Magoan ancestors?

The only Alien we've ever been visited by, was either the nematode or tardigrade that kickstarted life on Earth.

Yes, it seems that at first the consensus was none, but lately they've changed that:

https://www.theguardian.com/science/2020/jan/30/neanderthal-genes-found-for-first-time-in-african-populations

The latest findings suggest human and Neanderthal lineages are more closely intertwined than once thought and point to far earlier interbreeding events, about 200,000 years ago. ...

The study suggests living Europeans and Asians carry about 1% Neanderthal DNA, compared with on average 0.3% for those of African ancestry.

I suspect that article is deliberately playing up African Neanderthal DNA and playing it down in Europeans to be more politically correct. Other sites have other numbers:

https://medlineplus.gov/genetics/understanding/dtcgenetictesting/neanderthaldna/

Several direct-to-consumer genetic testing companies report how much DNA a person has inherited from prehistoric humans, such as Neanderthals and Denisovans. This information is generally reported as a percentage that suggests how much DNA an individual has inherited from these ancestors. The percentage of Neanderthal DNA in modern humans is zero or close to zero in people from African populations, and is about 1 to 2 percent in people of European or Asian background.

Another interesting tidbit:

Some Europeans migrated back to Africa and interbred with the locals maybe 20,000 years ago, whence some of the Neanderthal DNA in sub-Saharan Africans.

This fits with the distribution of the R Y-chromosome, which is mostly in Europe and India (corresponding nicely to the Indo-European languages), but also has pockets in Africa.

Also interesting: Western Europe and a pocket in Africa are largely R1b, while Russia and India are largely R1a.

I know I'm in the R1b group from genetic testing, but then Ireland has the highest concentration of R1b on earth, like 90% iirc, so it would strange not to be.

OK, this would get me shot in politically correct circles, but damn, doesn't the high R1b concentration in Africa correspond with the Igbo homeland in the southeast of Nigeria?

And the Igbo are widely known as the smartest Africans.

Just sayin. Could be random. But it is a striking coincidence.

I've talked about this a million times. Neanderthal cross breeding accounts for a lot of the differences between homo sapiens. Higher neanderthal dna equals higher intelligence, amongst other things.

Still, you'll never make it into Yale.

Besides, was that before or after your post-vaccination mutational form?

https://www.quora.com/Why-are-Igbos-in-Nigeria-light-skinned-despite-being-from-West-Africa

Why are Igbos in Nigeria light-skinned despite being from West Africa?
Not all Igbos are light-skinned, and there other Nigerian ethnic groups that sometimes commonly produce light-skinned people. But a very high proportion of Igbo people are indeed light-skinned or at least quite fair-skinned, compared to all or most other Nigerian and West African ethnic groups.

Hmmm.

Makes sense, given what you've said about where you're from.

Did you know there is a highway named for your people?

State Road 231 (NM 231) is a 4.995-mile-long (8.039 km) state highway in the US state of New Mexico.

How can a highway exist in the United States that is 5,000 miles long, when the country is less than 3000 miles wide at it's widest points?

That civil engineer needs to be fired.

LOL! Three decimal points off. You must work for Pentagon accounting.

Sorry, I couldn't resist, I'm a bad person.

I was wondering how Europeans might have survived in equatorial Africa, which is famously inhospitable to them.

Well, if they did show up 20,000 years ago, equatorial Africa was probably a much cooler place, since it was during the ice age. And then as things warmed up, and they mixed with the local people, they probably gained immunity from local diseases.

How might they have gotten there? Maybe by boats along the coast. Or maybe it was possible to just walk across the Sahara at that time, as it would not have been a desert.

I stand corrected. Been reading too much bullshit from Europeans. They replace periods with commas and vice-versa.
