Holy shit....the dirt has come out:
Basically,

- Disney is in a panic over the sheer number of Disney+ cancellations
- They didn't tell her for DAYS...she found out when the whole rest of the world found out.
- Favreau wants to nix her character completely, not re-cast it.
- Lot of teens...especially girls loved the character.

All the .mp4 versions I downloaded were too big to upload to PatNet and the .mp3 was interpreted as an image w/o dimensions.

So, here's the youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PrQl_hPQ8jY

Fuck those cancel culture nazis

I don't like the cancel culture, but Disney as usual will be just fine. Kids want to watch what Disney puts out. As a parent I'd spend a ton of time trying to stop them from watching what they want or fight with or disappointing them by not allowing it. I don't know, time is valuable and I really don't want to waste it boycotting Disney. If they lose revenue, they just lay normal people off. Higher ups keep the fat paychecks. All you're doing is pissing off your own kids and putting normal people out of jobs.

There are plllllllllllllllenty of other things worthy of boycott before Disney. Not to say I don't blame people for it, there are just bigger problems out there and we're getting in the weeds with idiots by counter banning/cancelling their stuff.

* Admitted bias, I own stock in Disney.

Short Disney.
They’re a company which is supposed to be providing FAMILY and CHILD entertainment, yet they’re actively promoting anti-family and anti-child narratives and cancelling anyone who is pro-family and pro-child. Their movies are getting worse, more infested with wokey dokey BS, less imaginative, and more packed with Chinese propaganda. The themes those movies express are relentlessly anti-family, and promote weird sexual orientations.
They’re in the process of alienating the very market which they used to dominate, and they’re well on their way. The Mandalorian was a small revival of interest in both Disney and Star Wars, and they’re politicizing that to promote useless narratives and the DNC which represents the Evil Empire.

Disney has gone over to the Dark Side, and Palpatine might not have revealed himself as a Sith Dark Lord yet but he’s unleashed his clone army.

I can’t see the direction of Disney changing. It’s been going bad for years, but now it’s especially sliding downhill fast. Plus Disneyland hasn’t been open in a year, Disney World has been on reduced capacity, and they haven’t been able to put any new movies in theaters for a year. Their only reliable source of income is the Disney+ streaming service (now that they yanked their content from other streaming networks), and a mass cancellation of any sort is radically painful to their bottom line.
They still own a crap ton of very valuable IP, but they have a severe cash flow issue, and are likely running on loaned money against that IP. If they can’t win back fans soon, they’ll have to start auctioning off that IP to service debts, and then that’s a slippery slope to oblivion.

And that's just it. There will never be enough critical mass to put them under. Too much nostalgia with women and some men over movies and now brands with Star Wars. Disney isn't going anywhere.

Again, I'm totally biased. Disney has returned me 88% over a short period of time. I think there's a tiny dividend too. Disney is like tobacco. There will always be someone that wants it. To keep profits in line they can just lay people off and spend less. They will always churn a profit and boycotting unfortunately will do little, though I personally dislike some of the product of late.

The losses on the media side like ESPN have already been baked in. Lucasfilm buy has been covered already. I haven't looked at the balance sheet in a year, but Disney is here for the foreseeable future and any boycotting will make little difference outside of personally feeling good about it. Which is totally fine. I'm not a fan boy of Disney by any means.

They were once boys, right? Hard to decipher now I suppose with all these genders.

Not really. I'm an engineer in Silly Con Valley. We of all people are the target audience.

People will watch this garbage with their kids, and their kids view it as a forgettable terrible film. Merchandising is dead, nobody I know bought the Blu Ray, and many of them don't have kids urging them to go to a theater to watch the newer junk - they wait for it to show up on a streaming service.

Children are the driving force to get adults to watch the new stuff and the children quickly lose interest. These kids grew up on it too. People hold out hope for a better film for multiple sequels, but eventually just abandon it. Most people I know that loved the original series, even the people that defended the prequels are done with it. Their kids, and grand kids are done with it now as well.

Every franchise does this. Predator, Alien, Star Trek, Star Wars.

I really enjoyed Alien, Aliens was OK, and then it was just disappointment from there on out although I saw 3 and 4 whatever they were called. I never saw the sequel to Prometheus and I didn't see that in theaters because I expected it to be crap because Damon Lindelof was involved with it and it was crap. I didn't see the sequel, because I expected it to be awful, and from what I've heard, it was awful. I wouldn't even spend time to see it for free. Give me a Blu Ray of it, and I'd give it away to a library archive before I'd view it.

If they employed competent writers they could make this last forever, but they don't. It appears to become a writer for Hollyweird either you get the job through nepotism or giving blow jobs, it has nothing to do with competence. They can't even make a logically coherent film, and you don't have to be 50 to see this, you can be 5 to see the problems. The writers are horrible. It's just absolute garbage. Television shows 30 years ago were written better.

Dizzey may continue to exist, but I think if they do, it's a "covid relief fund" keeping them alive. Not actual interest from the public. We're the new Soviet Union. Our state keeps shitty pieces of shit corporations solvent.

Woke idiocy ruins everything. Because it’s arrogant and stupid narcissism. Takes extreme level of being out of touch with reality to think that everyone wants to be lectured by wealthy elite who has no fucking idea about life we all have.

I thought the new Star Trek with Chris Pine was well done, honored the past and used technology advances to enhance the experience in a way that does not overpower the acting or story. It is good enough that people who have never seen Star Trek the original series might like it, and even more rewarding for fans of the original series.

Star Wars on the other hand opted for wokism and focused on pushing a political agenda rather than honoring the past and entertaining new and old fans. The new woke Star Wars are visually stunning but lack any compelling story or characters. They are uninspiring to new audiences and down right sickening to long time fans of the franchise.

Good writers can’t make wokism more palatable with special effects. Woke characters are uninspiring and not entertaining. Nothing about wokism makes for a good story.

The first Alien was exciting because they ratcheted up the suspense from the first moment till the final battle. Acting was good and the story and characters were interesting and plausible. After that final battle the story had been told, there really is not much of a story left to tell about a space spider that bleeds acid. The rest was just attempts to milk people without having any new ideas. In the end the space spider is a great enemy, but not great enough to build a series of stories around. Despite good acting Prometheus sucked. They tried to write a new story to incorporate the space spider together with true intelligent beings but never gave the true intelligent beings a chance to tell their story, so it again again failed to create a villain worthy of a story. Good writing could have made it better, but the space spider is really the Achilles heel. Space spiders are about good for one hit and a bunch of duds after that.

If y'all like Culture Wars news, you'd like Overlord DVD/Dr. Doomcock

Midnight's Edge (sounds like an E.Eur Immigrant) and Nerdrotic (Gen X Father, leaving Cali) are also good.

My kids watch youtube Zoomers play Minecraft and make up extra-low budget scary movies. Much better than the social BS messaging in cartoons these days.

Disney is shit past the original Lion King, it's all soyboys projecting themselves as little girls with more balls than they have.

Including myself I know seven others that have canceled this week, but it would have probably happened anyways there isn't much content. Many people got it for free as part of promotion I can't see them not loosing most once covid ends.

Listening to Ben Shapiro's interview with Gina Carano, I was struck by a couple of things (note: did not listen to the entire interview). The most shocking thing was seeing how apolitical she was. She's been, essentially, radicalized in real time by the whole process. First, the Twitter mob came for her because she wouldn't bend the knee. Then, she is taken aback by the whole voting process and reports on what she experienced -- all the time taking heat from the mob (and her colleagues). Talk about rolling with the punches...

You're brave. That guy is unlistenable even though I'd say I'm on his "team" so to speak. He's obnoxious as fuck.

He's Zionist first, and America 8th. I never respected Shapiro. He's just another Neocon fuck.
