I don't think they really are, it's called a "bandwagon" and they're the generation that wants to be on whatever is hip at the moment--it's sad commentary if that large a percentage of the population were mentally ill.

On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;

All generations while young want to be part of what is hip and cool. That is why they all have distinctive music, hairstyles, and phrases. We need to find a way to get the next generation to consider deviant culture, blatant dishonesty, and ghetto mores as passé, and make the new hip rock solid integrity and common sense.

I think their stats are too high. There are no gays anywhere here. Outside of few Mecca’s like San Francisco and parts of Hollywood people aren’t choosing those lifestyles.

Depends on how the questions are asked. If the survey people have an agenda, the questions can be adjusted to push for a certain result. Consider: "Have you ever had a thought at any time about trying a LBGTQ activity" verses "do you consider yourself actively LBGTQ at this moment in your life."

I had to do some searching as well to figure out what Kipling meant by “The Gods of the Copybook Headings.” Turns out that back in his day, students had copy books where they had to read and copy the words from them to work on their knowledge and penmanship. The headings at the top of each page usually included a phrase from traditional wisdom. So he was referring to the time-tested wisdom of the forefathers who were taught by the harshest tutors of all: Nature, red in tooth and claw.
Once I knew this I understood what the poem meant: that the folly of men would always be brought to sorrow by the unchanging realities of Nature and human behavior. That natural law always trumped human law.
Indeed, our Founders referenced natural law in both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution as justification for what they enshrined therein.

I also found Kipling to be rather prophetic with this poem. And yet he didn’t go far enough to describe the excesses of our modern culture. I wonder if we instinctively understand that this circus can’t last much longer before the rings break, the elephants revolt, and the tigers tear into the audience. Is that why apocalyptic fiction is so popular lately?
