A FEW SIMPLE GROUND RULES

OPERATION UNMASK AMERICA IS ABOUT RESISTANCE, NOT UNREST

We will simply ignore mandatory masking and distancing regulations.
We will decide where, when and whether to wear a face mask or not.
We will show respect to those who choose differently.
We will gather with others in whatever numbers we wish.
We will not be drawn into shouting matches with agitators.
We will do our best to ignore triggered liberals.
Self-defense aside, we will avoid physical altercations.

WE REALIZE THAT SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS AND STORE EMPLOYEES ARE NOT THE ENEMY

Small business owners have been especially hard hit by the leftist weaponization of COVID-19. Many of them will never recover. After so much hardship, we can understand their desire to avoid being shut down for lack of compliance with draconian masking and distancing regulations. We will not take it personally if and when we are asked to leave their places of business.
Far from being our opponents, small business owners are a key to our success. (See the ATTENTION BUSINESS OWNERS page linked below for more detail.) As such, we will treat them with the utmost respect at all times, in the hope that they will join in the effort.
We pledge to go out of our way to support those businesses that support us.
We likewise recognize that store employees who are tasked with overseeing customer compliance with COVID-19 regulations, many of whom earn a very modest income, are simply doing their jobs to the best of their ability. If and when such a person confronts us for refusing to mask, we will not take it personally.

UPON BEING ASKED TO LEAVE A PLACE OF BUSINESS, WE HAVE SEVERAL OPTIONS

We can simply ignore the directive. In some cases, we will be left alone to go about our business / make our purchases.
If the owner / employee should persist, we may politely invite them to call local law enforcement. We the People have strength in numbers. Law enforcement officials – many of whom are sympathetic to our cause – simply cannot respond to hundreds (perhaps thousands) of calls about citizens who – at one and the same time – peacefully refuse to comply with ludicrous masking and social distancing regulations.
In other circumstances, the most appropriate response may be to leave. If, however, we are treated with open hostility (a reasonably sure sign that we are dealing with a bona fide leftist; i.e., an avowed enemy of our American way of life), we will make it a point to NEVER do business with that merchant ever again.

The seemingly hostile business owner may not be that bona fide leftist. Do understand that in many areas, the business owner faced shutdown, loss of license and possible arrest if he does not do masking enforcement. The gov is not above sending in an undercover "anti-masker" who will write up a fine when the owner does not force him to leave or wear a mask. Also, a business that allows the unmasked to patronize will have a Karen or two beat feet down to wherever they need to go to rat out the business.

You talk a good game about who is and isn't the enemy, yet your call to action is to behave like a narcissistic Karen and enact cancel culture on anyone who doesn't go along with your campaign IN THEIR OWN PLACE.

The whole thing reeks of not-so-passive aggression, entitlement, and pathological narcissism. I'm in my third decade as a small business owner. The LAST thing I want or need is more ways for people to try to act like they run MY place, and tell ME what and how goes on at my premises, then escalating butthurt or serious aggression toward me as if they are some innocent victim and I'm the unreasonable asshole when asking them to do/not do literally anything.

Don't get me wrong, I'm tired of the masks and the shitshow the whole response to the pandemic continues to be. I believe we're in the last months of needing masks as much. However, what you're proposing here is like a bad parody of how to act like a dominant alphalpha male, and despite the lip service, would have you treat fellow citizens (who are struggling small business owners) like malevolent inferiors, while behaving like some superior master group yourself.

Count me out. It goes both ways, I don't want YOU as customers in my business if you would make this the hill our business relationship dies on.

How about we also pledge to patronize businesses who refuse to comply with mask mandates? Patronize those businesses and promote them!
I’ve been doing that for months. Example is my barbershop which hasn’t done masks for barbers or customers since summer of last year! It’s an oasis of sanity and I cherish my monthly cuts.

There’s also a few restaurants who aren’t enforcing the masking.

Where is he being aggressive? If the business owner is polite and says they have to comply with masking ordinances then you can leave and be nice. Nothing wrong with that. Nobody is telling you how to run your business but if you have to evict somebody from the premises for not wearing a mask you can do so politely. No harm done. Ok I would agree that I probably would leave and not continue to stay without a mask if asked to vacate the premises. But where's the narcissism in reclaiming freedom? Also would you grant your same "let me run my business as I see fit and don't tell me how to run it!" attitude to somebody who doesn't accept blacks or males in the store to save lives because they statistically significantly commit more violent crimes than Whites or Females?

Agreed! Business owners should not have their businesses arbitrarily shut down.

Your best/only counterargument is to ask if flouting different laws is okay?

It's an extremely specialized niche and local B&M with a million to one chance you'd have ever been a customer, and I don't see the question as coming in good faith to the topic, so no.

It is very reasonable that a business owner asks for customers to wear masks in store, even if masks do not prevent infection by covid as shown by multiple peer-reviewed studies and recently by comparing covid infection/death rates in states which require masks (Clownifornia) and ones which don't (TX and FL). IN principle, business owner could ask his customers to hop into his business on one foot, and he would be fully within his rights to do that. Customer, on other hand, would be fully within his rights to avoid business that requires masks or hopping on one foot to prevent covid (both of which would be of equal value with respect to covid prevention). The black/male example when I think about this is different in at least 2 ways from mask nonsense - (1) a non-violent black or male could not get around the prohibition which is deeply wrong, and (2) statistically, this prohibition would actually make sense.

In TX local businesses "recommend" masks, other than in yuuge national banks/chains which require masks, consequently I will not shop there.

What does this have to do with laws, it's about logic and presumably keeping people safe. Nazi Germany had laws as well. Let's stay on topic, why can't you do business only with lesser criminal species to keep yourself and the other customers safe?

Telling me to stay on topic immediately after invoking Godwin's Law is quite rich. Again I find your question not in good faith to the topic at hand.

Your offer is acceptable.

Tell us your business we will be sure to avoid it forever and tell everyone we know to avoid it.

I will die on this hill.

Masks are evil overreach by an evil government, and you are cooperating with the Nazification of the US.

You can't refute the logic of the argument, so you avoid it with feelings. I admit it's a difficult topic and I don't have best answers to discrimination vs freedom and choice, but you certainly can't give Patrick an attitude if they are making the choice and voice heard where they feel better and safer and more welcome to shop. That choice should be given to each store owner, and if people actually would have had a pair of balls and immediately risen up in masses and kept their businesses open and maskless (or masked at their choice) we could have saved many people from bankruptcy and destruction of their livelihoods and ability to provide for their families.

It's scary cause it's done voluntarily. At least Germans in the beginning did better under HItler than the Weimar Republic (he rightly canceled the bs reparations from WW1), they only got played badly in the long run as he cemented his reign of terror and genocide and then lost the war due to delusion and hubris. But here - looking around in SF - the cities are completely shattered, 70% of small restaurants and businesses gone, thousands of unemployed people in the hospitality industry, fitness industry and many other industries, drowning in shit and homelessness, and people literally think they lost their jobs and sometimes dignity for the better of humanity. They got nothing in return - unless you're a govt employee - except for a soon used up stimmy check and government dependence. All for a severe flu season like we have once every 5-10 years (just a different virus family). Why on earth would they do this to themselves?!
