Holy Shit. Why would anybody want to move away from this Great Socialist Paradise? Thank you, Guv Newsom. The Socialist and Globalist demolition of our cities and society proceed apace.

For years, on this forum, I've been saying that SF was Philly by the Bay.

This is in stark contrast with Boston, which was originally dubbed SF's sister east coast city. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Strange. I never heard SF compared to Boston. Barbary Coast and East Coast are different worlds. Its main claim to fame was that it WASN'T Los Angeles.

Now, here's the downtown of Montreal (main business district)...

which is much like the downtown of Boston but with legal hoeing.

I'm not even including the old section, Vieux Montreal (below pic), which is gorgeous.

And then idiots tell me ... "Oh, San Fran is so X, Y, & Z!"

I say BULLSHIT! SF is Philly's sister city on the west coast!

I have ... my whole youth until I visited and said, wait a minute?! I'm in Philly! Why fly six hours for a six hour drive down i-95?!

Must be an East Coast aberration myth, because I have never heard that in California. Of course, I lead a sheltered and naive existence. The only vague comparison might be the university plexus competing with the Ivies.

When I took interview tours through Boston schools, they were very parochial and snobbish about their pedigree and would have been insulted to be compared to anything as provincial and hick as California.

It's not the school thing.

Of course, in a town with Harvard/MIT, the other schools will want to bolster themselves to be closer to the Big Two, however, in light of the fact that many of them are stupid, full of idiots with grade inflation, the most they can do is claim 'culture' but then, want to live in Cal for the 'good life', whatever the hell that is, otherwise, these idiots would have attended Yale, Columbia, NYU, U Penn, P'ton, Hopkins, G'town, Duke, etc, down the eastern seaboard than in staying in Boston if they weren't at the Big H or MIT.
