For intense enjoyment of all our Patnet Karens:

https://mises.org/wire/why-there-no-correlation-between-masks-lockdowns-and-covid-suppression

Contrary to what the public health experts have been telling us for more than a year, there is no correlation between the strength of a state's lockdown measures and total covid-19 deaths. In fact, notorious lockdown states such as New York and New Jersey have some of the worst mortality numbers to date. To blame noncompliance for these poor numbers is ridiculous on its face considering that states with no restrictions, such as Texas and Florida, have far fewer deaths than New York and New Jersey. In fact, you'll find that every state that has either removed its mask mandate or all covid-19 restrictions entirely is outperforming New York and New Jersey in terms of deaths.

It is worth noting that Rhode Island and New York, each with some of the highest mask usage rates and lockdown stringencies in the country, are leading the pack with some of the largest case increases since early February. What is more, in the 2.5 months since early February the ten states with the highest rate of mask usage have been doing worse in both cases and deaths than the ten states with the lowest rate of mask usage.

Follow the fucking science, they said............

Looks to me like masks cause disease, lol.

yeah, the graph is consistent with that, although correlation is not very good

Right, that's why I was joking. Someone will also object that harder hit areas will wear more masks blah blah.

But the truth remains that masks do little if anything indoors, and provably nothing outdoors.

Nice example of lies, damned lies, and statistics.

An R-squared of 0.00580 is impressively shit.

That is the point, actually. Mask use and restrictions do not correlate with covid infection and death rates. SCIENCE!

Looks like California which had some of the most restrictive cautions against Covid spread did almost exactly as bad as Florida which had some of the most permissive rules. Oh and Florida has more old people..
I think we can safely conclude that the restrictions played no part at all in decreasing Covid deaths.
But the restrictions taken on by California did manage to turn an entire generation of at-risk youths into hardened gang members in just a year! Wow! So progressive!
I’m sure @ThreeBays won’t mind being bashed, robbed, and possibly raped by the thugs created by the policies he supported. The media won’t have his back, either, as anti-Asian hate crimes don’t count when they’re perpetrated by PoC.

Seychelles, where 60% of adult population has had 2nd dose, just declared another 2-week complete Lockdown as COVID cases skyrocket.

The vaccine clearly doesn't work.

I used to hear gunshots where I live once a year or two. After covid restrictions, I hear gunshots twice a week. And I am in TX where restrictions were light.

I think they do personally. Not joking. Though I'm no scientist, but based on the reaction to this pandemic maybe I am?

I've been questioning masks once they started asking us to wear them (mandate is not a law either). Even though the spray from a sneeze/cough could be suppressed by a mask (maybe, but not really if we're talking viruses), someone else's sneeze can stick to your mask just as easy or still get through it. Surface contamination and mask adjustment/touching at probably a 10x's rate of what you'd normally touch you face.

We don't need a study to determine that you'll touch your face exponentially more with a mask on. It's obvious. Covid was here in January at minimum and spreading. Did the stop the spread BS. Then in May or so depending where you live, it was wear a mask. We were flat, but with slight increase in high UV/outdoor months which shouldn't have happened if masks worked. Then it skyrocketed last fall, again with masks.

Besides cheesy graphics, no one can explain that if they worked, why the increase in cases and deaths with masks? March and April 2020 this was spreading like wildfire and those numbers now look low. Indisputable. I apologize to blind patnet users, but a simple graph will show you masks don't work. You cannot just assume they suppressed the spread as it visibly increased doing the things we were told to do.
