Went down a street across from us in Santa Cruz a while ago to several cars. They like Toyota trucks because they are easy access.

With the equal opportunity ghetto drops in tri valley, they are becoming more frequent there, too, now along with property crime in general.

They are sure nobody would have a firearm and balls to use it, hence the antics with the torch and attempts to retrieve the jack...

They appear to be some of our noble illegal immigrants. Musta been the only two bad ones.

I actually did laugh out loud at that one.

Too many witnesses and fucking video rolling...

In broad daylight with no fear of being confronted.

CA would be so much better with castle law, those illegals need to be dropped.
9   Hircus   2021 May 19, 7:20pm

I'd be careful confronting them in CA, especially if they look illegal or dindu. If the dumbass happens to crush himself under your car, a woketard DA may charge you with manslaughter for putting the thief under stress and duress while he was "performing a task that was obviously dangerous".

This is exactly why they are so bold.

This dindu stealing cc starts shooting victims when they try to stop him.

A simple skidplate bolted on with security fasteners takes care of that shit for under $200.

Do you have any links or references for that? I might be able to use that for taxis.

I have one like this on my truck (mine is not Tacoma, but you get the idea): https://sfxperformance.com/parts/ORF87045.htm

UPD: Here's one for Prius: https://www.amazon.com/Cat-Security-Catalytic-Converter-Protection/dp/B087D8ZSV8

Police said the suspect who was under the vehicle with the saw was a black male about 22 to 28 years old and about 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He had brown eyes and black braided hair. He was wearing a black shirt and tan pants with white shoes. Police also said this was the man who fired the gun.

Kudos to https://www.khou.com/ for mentioning what everyone correctly assumes.

Mexicans are doing this in California.
I had a laff because nobody had a gun.
This would be a little different in Florida probably.
My car piece is a .380 calibre, less likely to destroy a guy if I shot him, but definitely painful as fuck.

Get a big pepper spray and keep it in your car.
I saw that shit in action; a blast in the face knocked "an angry black man" on his ass, I was amazed when I saw it.

A guy out here opened a junk yard for the sole purpose of dealing catalytic converters.

I do a semi-monthly trip to a Walmart to stock up on paper-goods, detergent, and such.
Last month I came out, mid morning, and my catalytic converter was unbolted and the exhaust drop from the engine hanging loose.
They apparently target some cars like my Honda Element Grocery Getter because they can largely unbolt it instead of doing a bunch of cutting. I didn't see the perps and they didn't get the Cat. I went back in the store and bought some wire to wire the thing up and limped to a muffler shop. Good ol' boy at the shop commiserated at the state of the world and threw a couple of bolts back on for a case of Coors Lite in Bottles. I only wish I had caught the tweaker-goof-ball at work under my car.

Yep, Element, Prius and all Toyota trucks are prime targets for these fucks.

Why can’t the entire exhaust system be electrified, like with capacitors or some voltage step-up system, so it is like a Taser when the saw comes in contact with it. And a camera to catch the fucker knocking his noggin, back and forth, asphalt to undercarriage.

That calibre verses a more deadly round is a trade-off... your word against his in an attempted murder case verses just your word in a lethal self-claimed self defense case.

Exhaust system is connected to the engine, which is grounded to the body of the car, so with your schema you pretty much electrifying the whole car. If you can find a way to electrically insulate the exhaust from the engine this could work.

Police: Man accused of shooting catalytic converter thief, dragging body behind his truck

LAKEWOOD, Wash. — A man suspected of trying to steal a catalytic converter died after he was shot and dragged behind a truck in Lakewood early Saturday morning.

At about 3:45 a.m., a witness reported a suspicious Ford F-150 dragging an unknown object through the parking lot of a business at the intersection of Sharondale Street Southwest and Halcyon Road Southwest.

According to probable cause documents, the “object” that the truck was dragging was a person.

Don't live in urban areas or even suburbs and problem solved. We did a garage sale this weekend (fuck that noise) and we've put some stuff out to the curb that is somewhat valuable. Double and single stroller could probably get $30-50 a pop. A sign out saying it was free. Still not taken. For some reason, like electronics, you can't just donate a stroller apparently.

Basically we can't even find people to steal our stuff where we live. When I was in Chicago or Geneva, IL that shit would have been gone in 30 minutes. You have to be able to socialize with the townies, but I've loved rural living for the past 7 years. I actually think we're officially townies and that's a hard status not having grown up where we are.

When I lived in Oakland I was getting rid of an old mattress so I set it on the curb for a minute while waiting for a friend with a truck to take it to the dump. By the time my friend got there it was gone.

Saved the dump fee.

When criminals run free in the streets with no worry of arrest and people can't take it anymore this is what happens. Expect to see more of this and media will just push racism as people snap.

My experience on the peninsula as well. Old belt, old blanket, whatever. Just leave it on the sidewalk and BOOM it's gone!
