Question is, will DOJ return the money to Colonial. Any bets with the 'new' DOJ?

Just how does one recover cryptocurrency? Are they just saying they blocked the wallet from going to Darkside? That does not mean the FBI has recovered actual spendable bitcoin.

The FBI seems to have issued an order to the Bitcoin exchange in California to turn over the Bitcoins.

Very low tech.

These idiots allegedly had a hot wallet on some exchange. FBI got a judge order for exchange to block the wallet.

The FBI did something? I think I'm going to faint.

Don't worry, the FBI still looks the other way when Democrats commit crimes.

So the claim is that Russia used an exchange in the US and then left the money there?

That's a relief.

Of course, the FBI could have committed the false flag heist to begin with. Thass what they do! False flags, frame ups, blackmail ops and cover ups.

Too convenient. It's probably a BS story to obscure real methods of buttcoin clawback.

How a ransomware attack hit a pipeline operation is pretty stupid. It should be a closed network. You're already digging a trench, drop some buried conduit that has enough diameter to fit dozens of wires. You can still have it set up for remote management if you want. But you should never have it connect solely to a source where outside influences can fuck with you and shut it down.

I liken this to my pool/yard speaker setup. Obviously there could be a physical break of the wires with a shovel, but I don't allow randoms to come dig in my yard. I operate the system via an AppleTv unit wirelessly. If that AppleTv or my phone got hacked, I could easily just plug another device directly into the receiver and continue jamming out.

Maybe I'm simplifying it, but it doesn't seem that complicated to control some valves and tanks. It's literally data, volume and pressure measurement. Likely could be done on one computer as it's all just numbers. Redundancy is your friend and it really seems unfathomable that this happened.

The only way Colonial got the money back was the DOJ, told the CIA that they really crossed the line this time and has made a huge mess for them.
They are being savaged for their ability to track down every Jan 6th Patriot, but can't stop hackers.

I think this Psyops operation would be just what the Doctor ordered to pull the plug on the popularity of Digital currency.

I can't believe what a nothing story this is. Bit Coin has been touted for years, about how secure it is. The IRS might be able to see you made money from a transaction, but they couldn't take it from you, unless you gave it to them.

If the exchange can simply move money around from wallet to wallet without user interaction, then it's Doomed.
