In other words, despite being liberals, the couple have piled up more than enough sins against the liberal religion to attract an army of enemies. And now, the two seem on the brink of being driven from Yale altogether.

Sounds like a good summary of the controversy.

(Chua's book) Political Tribes pointed out that the rise of Donald Trump was fueled by the decay of America’s ruling class into smug, judgmental elitists who despised the core population of the country.

Sounds like a good summary of US politics.

From what I'd seen from the Ivy League, the other two big name law schools which flank Yale, Columbia in NYC and Harvard in Cambridge/Boston, use grades, etc, but at the same time, encourage clinical work, research, etc.

And thus, these personal letters from profs, don't carry the same weight.

This is why the 'woke' movement is killing these two profs; they became unpopular and now, can't do their jobs since Yale is only Pass/Fail and the profs letters a lot of value for both clerkships and job placement.

How good could Yale be? After all Hilary Clinton (smartest women around) went to Yale Law School and flunked the DC Bar Exam soon after.

It's only difficult to get into. Once in, it's pretty much a cakewalk.

People are absolutely going to lose their sh*t if JD Vance becomes the next senator from Ohio.

In community college, my physics teacher also taught physics at UC Berkley, and told us he would be grading us tougher than his berkley students due to the mandatory berkley grading guidance. He said the school wanted the final grades curved, with approx 25% A's, 25% B's, 25% C's, and 25% D's, with only a few F's given out in the most extreme of cases. Now that I think about it, it may have been 50% B's, and 25% C+D combined, but I know it added up to 100, with basically no room for Fs.

He didn't like it, but did it and kept his head down. I think he said it was popular in ivies to do this - make it tough to get in, but once you're in, make it tough to fail.
