I read that Steve Jobs encouraged his children to minimize the use of mobile devices.

LOL Media consumption!

The truth of the matter for me is, I get about 10 minutes a day of TV. I usually turn on Channel seven news in the morning. And that lasts until one of them Joe Biden approved mixed race couple commercials come on, to Troll me. I then turn it off and don't turn it back on for the rest of the day.

Then I get about 20 minutes a day on my phone, which is just a Phone. But I do check news and Patnet, when I'm in a queue and want to kill some time while I'm waiting for something in a business when I'm out in public.

I only get radio for the amount of time I'm in my car driving. And it's 100% conservative talk radio commercials. Some days 15 to 20 minutes in the car, most days none at all.

But I get about 12 hours in front of my Desktop/Laptop computer.

TV is the shocker for me. People still watch 4+ hours of TV?? We're a night cap family that maybe watches an hour before bed. And is this averages? If I'm on the low end and I know some people don't even watch TV, that means some people are watching 7-8 hours a day. F'ing insane.

The mobile doesn't surprise me at all. A lot of people in the field running around use their phone a ton. I didn't read the linked article, so maybe they weeded business people out. But with my previous employer I was opening the phone 20 times an hour while awake most day.

The desktop is surprising as well assuming laptops are included. But I guess not everyone has one, so the 0 hour people drag it down a ton.

Either way, I'll mess around on my phone, but hate using for anything that would be considered productive outside of a call of text.

Cell phones are the newest way to dumb us down and distract. Its surpassed all that came before it. It's so effective that younger people growing up with it have lost the ability to properly communicate.

Most are on their phones when they're driving.

I just don't like surfing or typing on my phone at all. And I really don't like that phones are used to track my location and maybe listen in or spy through the camera, as Edward Snowden warned.

But I am on my laptop at least 10 hours per day.

As a kind of antidote, starting with my retirement in mid-April, I made a point of reading a real paper book for at least an hour each evening and I'm happy with that. Finished my dad's old college grammar book, Candide, Beyond Good and Evil, and now I'm into Aristotle's Politics.

Do you have a public library nearby? Before this Covid nonsense closed them, I made good use of the ones around here. Any book you want is available, either on the shelf or a free Kindle download. You can browse all the newspapers without having to add to the circulation numbers of those left wing rags. Even the small town library has computers with software like AutoDesk or Adobe Creative Suite you can use for free. Tons of magazines as well.

Yes, and it was pretty good before Fauci Flu.

Now you can't go in, but you can order books and later pick them up outside the front door.

Not only Fauci, but all our so-called "public health" officials who shut down the world for purely political and big pharma profit reasons should spend the rest of their lives in prison.

We cannot trust them anymore, not in the least.
