excuse me miss lady, i am just a kitten and not an internet doctor or anything, but i’m pretty sure that if they stop testing all the people who aren’t sick that it would probably stop the dystopian merry-go-round altogether.
because that’s what got us onto this crazy thing in the first place, in case you didn’t know!

That was the answer all along, ESPECIALLY after we found out the virus was already far more widespread than we thought. That was in April, 2020.
There's a reason we don't test healthy people for traces of the flu and then quarantine them while tracking down all their recent contacts. It's an idea so monumentally stupid that only government would actually do it.

Likely this was required by an employer or college.
Taxes and drivers licenses are about the only two things that can't be faked without consequence.
No different than the bouncer letting you in with a fake ID underage. That's your problem if you get caught.
Also, bar owners I know (and cops) have told me that a "fake ID" is no excuse. If an underage kid is in a bar drinking, the bar is liable to be fined or shut down regardless of how the kid got inside.
