Vaccination 'arms race' could prove dangerous to the American public.

The Biden administration’s strategy to universally vaccinate in the middle of the pandemic is bad science and badly needs a reboot. This strategy will likely prolong the most dangerous phase of the worst pandemic since 1918 and almost assuredly cause more harm than good – even as it undermines faith in the entire public health system.

Four flawed assumptions drive the Biden strategy.

The first is that universal vaccination can eradicate the virus and secure economic recovery by achieving herd immunity throughout the country (and the world). However, the virus is now so deeply embedded in the world population that, unlike polio and smallpox, eradication is unachievable. SARS-CoV-2 and its myriad mutations will likely continually circulate, much like the common cold and influenza.

The second assumption is that the vaccines are (near) perfectly effective. However, our currently available vaccines are quite “leaky.” While good at preventing severe disease and death, they only reduce, not eliminate, the risk of infection, replication, and transmission. As a slide deck from the Centers for Disease Control has revealed, even 100% acceptance of the current leaky vaccines combined with strict mask compliance will not stop the highly contagious Delta variant from spreading.

The third assumption is that the vaccines are safe. Yet scientists, physicians, and public health officials now recognize risks that are rare but by no means trivial. Known side effects include serious cardiac and thrombotic conditions, menstrual cycle disruptions, Bell’s Palsy, Guillain Barre syndrome, and anaphylaxis.

Unknown side effects which virologists fear may emerge include existential reproductive risks, additional autoimmune conditions, and various forms of disease enhancement, i.e., the vaccines can make people more vulnerable to reinfection by SARS-CoV-2 or reactivation of latent viral infections and associated diseases such as shingles. With good reason, the FDA has yet to approve the vaccines now administered under Emergency Use Authorization.

The failure of the fourth “durability” assumption is the most alarming and perplexing. It now appears our current vaccines are likely to offer a mere 180-day window of protection – a decided lack of durability underscored by scientific evidence from Israel and confirmed by Pfizer, the Department of Health and Human Services, and other countries.

Here, we are already being warned of the need for universal “booster” shots at six-month intervals for the foreseeable future. The obvious broader point that militates for individual vaccine choice is that repeated vaccinations, each with a small risk, can add up to a big risk.

It’s an arms race with the virus.

The most important reason why a universal vaccination strategy is imprudent tracks to the collective risk associated with how the virus responds when replicating in vaccinated individuals. Here, basic virology and evolutionary genetics tell us the goal of any virus is to infect and replicate in as many people as possible. A virus can’t efficiently spread if, like with Ebola, it quickly kills its hosts.

The clear historical tendency for viruses crossing over from one species to another is to evolve in a way that makes them both more infectious and less pathogenic over time. However, a universal vaccination policy deployed in the middle of a pandemic can turn this normal Darwinian taming process into a dangerous vaccine arms race.

The essence of this arms race is this: The more people you vaccinate, the greater the number of vaccine-resistant mutations you are likely to get, the less durable the vaccines will become, ever more powerful vaccines will have to be developed, and individuals will be exposed to more and more risk.

Science tells us here that today’s vaccines, which use novel gene therapy technologies, generate powerful antigens that direct the immune system to attack specific components of the virus. Thus, when the virus infects a person with a “leaky” vaccination, the viral progeny will be selected to escape or resist the effects of the vaccine.

If the entire population has been trained via a universal vaccination strategy to have the same basic immune response, then once a viral escape mutant is selected, it will rapidly spread through the entire population – whether vaccinated or not.

A far more optimal strategy is to vaccinate only the most vulnerable. This will limit the amount of vaccine-resistant mutations and thereby slow, if not halt, the current vaccine arms race.

Fortunately, those most vulnerable represent a relatively small number; and these cohorts have already achieved high levels of vaccine acceptance. They include senior citizens, for whom the risk of serious disease or death increases exponentially with age, and those with significant comorbidities such as obesity, lung, and heart disease.

For much of the rest of the population, there’s nothing to fear but fear of the virus itself. This is particularly true if we have lawful outpatient access to a growing arsenal of scientifically proven prophylactics and therapeutics.

For example, there has been much controversy over ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine. Yet, with the emergence of a growing body of scientific evidence, we can be assured these two medicines are safe and effective in prophylaxis and early treatment when administered under a physician’s supervision. Numerous other useful treatments range from famotidine/celecoxib, fluvoxamine, and apixaban to various anti-inflammatory steroids, Vitamin D, and zinc.

The broader goal when administering these agents is to moderate symptoms and take death off the table, particularly for the unvaccinated. Unlike vaccines, these agents are generally not dependent on specific viral properties or mutations but instead mitigate or treat the inflammatory symptoms of the disease itself. (Pfizer is now actively marketing its own antiviral therapeutic – tacit admission Pfizer’s own vaccine is incapable of eradicating the virus.)

We are not “anti-vax.” One of us (Dr. Malone) invented the core mRNA technology being used by Pfizer and Moderna to produce their vaccines and has spent his entire
professional career developing and advancing novel vaccine technologies, vaccines, and other medical countermeasures. The other (Mr. Navarro) played a key role at the Trump White House in jumpstarting Operation Warp Speed and ensuring timely delivery of the vaccines.

We are simply saying that just because you have a big vaccine hammer, it is not necessarily wise to use it for every nail. The American people deserve better than a universal vaccination strategy under the flag of bad science and enforced through authoritarian measures.

It's actually fairly simple, which makes me think that these two fellas run the CDC, the WHO, and the NIH.

The coronavirus mutates a lot like the common cold/rhinovirus. The reason why there's no 'cold shot' is because it's constantly moving and can't be contained by some 'flavor of the month' vaccination protocol.

Knowing this, the Beavis & Butthead squad went for the mass vaccination program instead of therapeutics like Quercetin Phytosome, if one's not sanguine towards HCQ or Ivermectin.

I read that article. Notice how they always have to slip some unsubstantiated scaremongering into it? Like this one:

“Is there a possibility that children that contract the Delta variant will need hospitalisation?” Þórólfur says that children generally have milder symptoms and none in Iceland have been hospitalised in this wave. However, there is data from abroad of children needing to be hospitalised due to COVID-19.

What data? From where? Let's see it, along with any co-morbidities such cases may have had.

But no such info is provided. Just an off-hand remark designed to incite fear into parents so that they'll take their little ones in for a juicing.

Sadly, all media do this.

They also continuously lie about injuries and deaths being "rare" even when describing how common they are.

Have you ever considered the possibility they don't give a damned if people are harmed by this vaccine or not, and they don't give a shit about public health, and they think they are entirely untouchable?

In my lifetime, I've NEVER seen the government care a bit about public sentiment, or yield to public pressure. I'm 50.

The vaccines don't work, they know it, they don't care.

This is a test of compliance, and yet another power grab. No matter what is done, what percentage of compliance there, how many people get the jab, we are not ever returning to normal.

Russia and China have already returned to normal. The West won't. We will always be in some state of lockdown, there will always be some threat to comply, compliance will lead to nothing except demands for more compliance, not less. We live in a world now where our intelligence agencies are claiming that "white nationalists" are the biggest threat to this nation. They're probably the biggest threat to the criminals that run this nation, and they're not much of a threat. More than 500 ACTUALLY peaceful protesters, who didn't murder anybody, did practically (and quite possible NO) damage to the capital building, are rotting in jail, and will be there for years. There's going to be no Bastille Day.

We're being tested for conformance. I will not comply. You shouldn't either.

With the new vaccine mandates coming down the pipe, my wife may be required to get the vax soon for her job. Hell, I might be required eventually. California is a mess, and rapidly getting worse.

Seriously thinking about quitting our jobs, selling our house, and moving to Florida. We could probably buy a nice house there outright with our equity alone. Then we’d need jobs…

The most important thing is to save your lives from the jab. It is a basic human right not to be experimented upon.

I concur. I love CA when I've visited, but cannot live there. It's a beautiful shit hole. I've found people to be unfriendly and shady. This is coming from a self described ass hole from the Midwest where outside of ghetto/city areas, everyone is really chill and nice. I'm a midwestern ass hole that would seem nice in the coastal areas of this country. Or Nashville. Fuck Nashville.

I have limited patience and CA just wouldn't work for me. Also frugal, so cost won't work for us even though we could afford it. No need to be house poor for the same income. Surfing would literally be the only reason for me to live there. Mountain - I've got free places to stay in Bozeman on a free flight. Ocean - Cheap rentals in FL or the Caribbean with a free flight. Spending 6 hours traveling is a pain for sure, but most people in CA or even MT have to drive 1-2 hours to get to the good stuff. Looking at mountains or oceans has no appeal to me.

Also factor in 8-12 hours a day is sleeping, showering, maintaining a home, taking care of kids, activities, etc. minimum. Next thing you know, you're paying insane amounts for maybe 4-8 hours of free time if that. I'm not math smart, but try to be analytical. Unless you live there 30-40 year and assume appreciation will keep going, and you have the income to cover cost of living, paying up to 13% income taxes, CA makes little to no sense to live in besides weather, terrain and water. I dislike winter, but it's manageable. About to get 90's with heat index of 100 here. Buy a house with a pool.

And don't take this as a CA bash comment. Just saying there's better and cheaper out there outside of someone that HAS to surf as their hobby. Which you can do in other places as well that are cheaper.

If it's a government institution then you may be able to escape the mandate by choosing a different state, but if it's private employment there are few states that ban that as well - I believe in FL the law is only for customers not for employment in the private sector. Otherwise you can just stay and refuse - the state you're in does not govern private employment policies much, the company makes the decision. If it's a state or federal government job such as teaching it may be easier to change jobs proactively since you'd have to find a new job anyways. Either way good luck.

I just quit my California IT job in healthcare and will be starting 100% remote working for a Florida-based healthcare company. Next step is convincing my wife and kids to get the hell out of Commiefornia since now they're mandating vaccination for all healthcare workers state wide.

Actually taking action against tyranny takes real courage. Most people just go along and willingly walk into the new gas chambers, by which I mean willingly letting themselves be injected with the jab.

Agreed, it's a big and courageous step. With a fractured family this was not an option so we bought a not too overpriced beautiful shack in one of the nice areas left without !covid! hysteria. Eventually we will likely leave as well but we're not in danger of clot shot coercion, and there's a bit of Larry Elder hopium going now in addition to the beautiful summer. Never give up the fight! Remote job was a smart decision, gives maximum flexibility and independence - congrats!

One of my contract employers is mandating the vax. So far they have moved the deadline twice. I just signed a new contract this morning. I am going to wait until they personally ask me for verification and then I will ask them to sign for liability. If they do I will quit. I don't think they will sign but I am ready to quit. Becoming part of an experimental biologic agent test group was not in the contract.

Let's see them find someone else qualified and willing to take the jab for money on short notice.

I figure if I get frugal I can last four or five years on savings and then retire and collect social security (as if) before I start accessing my retirement funds.

I like what I do, am good at it, and should be able to find more work with more enlightened employers.

I knew it was just a matter of time before this woke company would lose me.

That's what I've never understood. They had no vaccine in 1918, it was dreadful but by this stage it had burned itself out. We're going into a second round and it just seems to be getting worse. It's like it's being managed for maximum destruction. It will just mutate itself indefinitely. What are we supposed to do, have booster shots every month?
