#changinpastdecisions Many of us have had moments in our lives where we sit down and wish that we could go back in time and change some decisions that we made, etc. Yesterday, we changed our luncheon venue for the 9-11 commemorative to a Persian restaurant in Belmont named Shalizaar.
After we finished a delightful meal and drinks, Elena focused on my decision to come to the Bay area 25 years ago. She told me all the things that I did wrong and how I could have made things easier for me. (My theory of life is that sometimes you have to "do things the hard way," make sacrifices, and suffer pain to achieve a worthwhile goal. The words from a Robert Frost poem apply here as follows:
"And I, I took the road less traveled by..And that has made all the difference.")
I listened calmly. I didn't see a lot of merit in what she said. Elena and I were 7000 miles apart. We were speaking different languages. We were dealing with different cultures and ideologies. I pointed out to her if I had changed one thing that I did, most likely, we would have never met. How different both our lives would have been.

After you listened to her giving you shit about your decisions I hope she paid for the privilege and picked up the tab.

I inform everyone that I take no shit unless you are a 1. Cop 2. Judge
I nip that shit in the bud, and females accept it.

There are things I wish I had done differently, mostly associations with fools, and not spending more time with my parents after I was an adult.

This is true in my experience.

Women will try to dictate your life and then lose all respect for you because you allowed them to dictate your life - but only if you let them. It's a test.

If you don't let them, most will love you more because you have proven yourself to be a man.

The few women that are looking for a man to dominate will certainly cheat on you, more likely sooner than later. Best to run away.

Is this account even real? These are all like Paul Harvey story or some shit.

"Don't you wish you could change the past? One night, me and Betty were driving down Route 66 in our El Camino, when we saw a gas station...

... and so that kind of pickup, gave it's name to another pickup. The Guitar Pickup, or, 'The Humbucker' after Fats Domino's 1954 Favorite Sandwich. And now, you know, the rest of the story. Good day."

I always hate it when he skips the part about throwing Elena through the plate glass window of the restaurant.
