Got this Kaiser story from Apple news today:

https://apple.news/AEfjzV4cGRIyKfCrHjhGkrA

Typical fear porn how ICUs are overrun with dying "covid" patients and how the hospital is so crowded they are putting beds into hallways:

"The ICU here has space for 28 patients but last Friday was operating at 160% capacity, Baxter said. To handle the overflow, nurses elsewhere provide care beyond their training as covid patients fill other parts of the hospital. In the lobby of the emergency department, rooms roughly 6 feet by 6 feet have been fashioned with makeshift plastic walls. Ten members of the Montana Army National Guard arrived last week to help however they can. Hospital staffers volunteer to sit with dying patients. Beds line hallways."

Then I open the HHS hospital capacity tracking site and see that Billings, MT has 2 hospitals with 64 and 49 ICU beds. What's more, as of Sep 16th they had 14 (20%) and 20 (40%) of ICU beds available, respectively.

https://protect-public.hhs.gov/pages/hospital-utilization

Yes, the data is from Sep 16th and the article is published yesterday. One can argue that they could see a massive surge in the last week, but where the fuck would ICU beds go? It's not possible to have 64 beds on Sep 16th but "have space for only 28 patients" and in need to repurpose hallways a week later, is it?

So, what the fuck is this?

Yes, they have been lying. Constantly. Verifiably.

Where have you been?

My friend works in a hospital, and he told me that for a while incoming sick people had slowed down and recently business was picking up.

Fear porn is losing its appeal to the public, but the inept media wants to keep the fires burning.

I don’t know when this endless Twilight Zone episode will be over, but I’m not watching the news here.

My friend (male 52) didn’t take the shot, and went to spend a fun week in the hospital.
Some other guys who were in there with him were fat fucks who became worm fodder or ashes.

I’m going to Baja California Sur Mexico in a couple of weeks, I am curious what absurd rules are imposed down there.

Running to Snopes to fact check that.

Yes, they are lying. I posted the following in another thread regarding Canadian hospital occupancy data.

Engineer gathers Canadian hospital occupancy data through FOI request (Ontario yet to send the data, Quebec outright refuses).

I struggle to understand how across Canada we have been repeatedly told about overwhelmed hospitals, and yet there is not a single province or health region that has demonstrated a meaningful increase in hospital occupancy above historical norms.

This article doesn't even start to touch on how Provinces and Territories have had 18 months to increase hospital capacity, yet in most cases have added an insignificant number of Acute Care and ICU beds, and in some cases (I'm looking at you Alberta) they have even fewer hospital beds now than they did 5 years ago! But I'll leave that topic for another day.

Was about 10 months since I was in Cancun. I wouldn't worry about Mexico itself. Just read up on current travel restrictions. I don't think you even need a test, but that could have changed. You'll have to get tested on the way back though. So plan for that or the resort itself might cover it. Most of them do now. If not staying at a resort it is something you'll have to figure out. I'm 90% sure it's all bull shit for the tests they give, as in it doesn't actually go to a lab, but you'll find out. I think testing down there is cheap if insurance doesn't cover.

Planning our test for Puerto Rico and St. Thomas/John next month. It's a pain, but just figure out if they have a portal online and see if you can be prepped. The places I've been are super lax on verification. CDC vaccine cards are not valid in most places, even US territories. You need to go through the countries portal and give documentation of a negative test. SIL (pregnant) got into the UK unvaccinated, but tested a couple weeks back. BIL had to be vaccinated. Policies are all over the map. Most people checking this stuff give zero shits though.

Last time to St. Thomas last October, US National Guard was handling the Covid paperwork and he said he didn't care and just took our paperwork. Mexico was even easier. They'll likely not care or you maybe have to test and have a QR code. Pain, but not too difficult. Most major airports have rapid testing on site. Very unlikely they chase you down in Mexico either even with a negative test.

No hospital in the country has run out of ICU bed space any more than they would have 3-4 years ago. Boomers are dying and they happen to have covid. It's not because of covid though. Capacity has not increased. IL is not building new hospitals. That's the bigger problem with an aging demographic.

This is no different than asking if the heart attack was caused by the cocaine, or because the person was unhealthy. Basically the triggering event was going to happen at some point. It wasn't the cause of death though. Being unhealthy and then snorting a bunch of coke killed them. It's what killed my FIL. He was unhealthy, that's what killed him. Healthy people do blow all the time and don't die.

Yes, and for decades.

So, what the fuck is this?

An attempt to institute fascism in America.

Or a last gasp attempt at genocide before the masses figure out what the ruling class has been doing.

The fuck this is.
