BREAKING: New Alabama bill will give employees the right to take legal action against their employer if they are injured by the vaccine

if you want me to vaccinate as a condition of my work, then you bear the responsibility for the risks of vaccinating me.

this creates what is called “a market” and free markets are totalitarian kryptonite because free markets generate a deep need for information and price discovery and encourage accurate and complete evaluation of trade offs.

it’s really simple. if you face the benefits of your actions and not their costs, of course you’ll do stupid things.

you’ll happily inflict 20 pounds of disease to get an ounce of cure because it’s YOUR cure and the disease falls on someone else.

it’s the literal recipe for bad decision making and resource allocation.

and nearly all government works this way.

if your employer made you wear face paint made with lead and cadmium as a requirement of your work, you could sue the hell out of them (or of the face paint manufacturer)

and this is why this does not happen.

(and note that it’s not that evil employers would seek to harm you. that’s rarely true. but if they face no incentive to “get it right” or costs from “getting it wrong” then they don’t bother to understand the trade offs and tend to go with what looks easy or conventional.)

with the current vaccines structure, your employer gets free stuff, they get to force you, bear zero liability for a bad outcome, and neither does anyone else. there is no risk reward for them, just a goodie room.

this is not a sound basis for policy.

and you can see it all through the system. can literally anyone believe that pfizer and AZ and JnJ and moderna would have run trials this brief, this slipshod, made such aggressive claims that failed to hold up, and then vaccinated all the controls after 3 months if they faced the liability for getting it wrong and making claims about benefit and risk that wound up being untrue?

how can anyone trust a system with such a profound misalignment of incentives? ...

but this is really a sort of “if i had a clean sheet of paper” solution. it’s an aspiration and a guiding principle. it’s not going to help us right now.

but what alabama is proposing CAN.

if the feds want dragoon employers into their authoritarian apparatus, then let the states hold such minions accountable to we the people by allowing the people to sue these employers if their policies harm us.

then let’s see if they still want to play when they are exposed to the risk as well as reward of their choices.

(betcha they don’t)

power without accountability is a recipe for truly nasty tyranny.

so let’s stop granting it.

no sane human would try to raise a child or even a hamster that way.

what on earth would lead you to believe that you could, in such a fashion, create a government or a business structure and not have it turn on you?

it’s really very simple:

truly good ideas can be sold on their merits. it is only bad ideas that require coercion.

choose markets, not menace.

the society you save may be your own…

That's great news but it should be an allowed condition for new employment only, not for existing employment. You should never be able to amend an employment agreement with clauses violating the Nuremberg code.

I don't think the mandates should be allowed for new employment either.

The vaxx has no long-term safety data, and our whole medical establishment is utterly captured by Big Pharma, doing whatever those corporations demand.

Agreed, but as I read this law Alabama only allows you to sue your employer in case of injury, it doesn't disallow the mandate, even for existing employment. Some bigger employers with lots of lawyers working for them already may still go for the mandate, esp. if greased by BP. For some professions vaccination has been mandatory as condition of new employment such as healthcare (Hep-B etc.). But it would be a big first step to abolish the amendment of exisiting employment with mengele clauses.

Take notes on everything employment wise. We put lead and asbestos all over the country in residential buildings at one point. Humans have done some stupid shit in the past. Data tells us Covid isn't dangerous. I have zero faith and/or trust in something made out of nowhere and that doesn't apparently work and needs fucking 3 shots a year for it to not work.

As someone that has skirted mask mandates the whole time, even on planes, this whole thing is pure bull shit. If it's so contagious I should have gotten it based on my habits and travel. My kids. Nobody has tested positive. We've been on close to 12 trips and 16 one way flights. Go out 2-3 times a week to restaurants. Go to parties or get together with neighbors. No one wears a mask. It's all bull shit.

Doesn’t killing off half your customer base hurt your long term bottom line? All the profits from the vaccines are already baked into these stocks… that’s how stocks work.

It’s like Apple selling you an iPhone that literally explodes and kills you at year 2. Not a smart business model.

Now if the vaccines cause you to get sick and need more vaccines or medication to treat your sickness the original vaccine caused.. that’s closer to the Apple business model.. that’s possible I guess.

Arkansas Bill Creates Antibody Exemption for Biden Vaccine Mandates
BY JACK PHILLIPS September 30, 2021

Lawmakers in Arkansas advanced a bill on Sept. 29 that would allow workers to opt out of their employer’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement if they can prove that they have natural antibodies against the CCP virus or if they’re tested for the virus weekly.

Again, the "backwards" states are proving more respectful of science and human rights than the blue states.

Australia introduced a bill to provide compensation to the vaxx-injured:

But I'm sure that Pfizer will not be paying anything at all.

Governor issues executive order to fight COVID-19 vaccine mandates

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Gov. Kay Ivey has signed an executive order targeting federal COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

The Biden administration has already implemented mandates for COVID-19 vaccinations or testing for federal employees and military service members. It also applies to certain private sector entities, such as health care facilities that receive Medicare or Medicaid funding and businesses with 100 or more employees.

Other private companies may legally choose to mandate vaccinations or testing.

Ivey’s executive order calls the federal requirements an “overreach” and says that the state, through the attorney general’s office, could issue legal challenges.

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall’s office said they are preparing to challenge the federal contractor mandate. However, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and Occupational Safety and Health Administration have not yet been formally proposed by the federal government. This means there is nothing to file a claim against yet.
