One of my wife's most boss moments was at the Chicago Art Museum. Entry is a voluntary donation. We had to go for a college class we were both taking. She was polite, but said we weren't going to donate and walked away and we viewed frivolous bull shit for an hour.

Art is a weird thing. My mom actually finished up her career as an art teacher at a school after being a elementary school teacher for almost 3 decades. Eye of the beholder or whatever, seems like bullshit to me. I like pictures of real things and experiences. Have a photo of my wife and I from a wedding (not ours) and it's my favorite photo. Legit speaks to our personality and relationship through a photo. Painted art and sculpture just don't do it for me.

Tangent aside, hire more black people and watch the art "disappear" aka theft.

Isn't the Chicago Art Museum going to buy some of Hunter's works?

Who knows. I hate cities at this point. Get me to the airport and get me out as fast as you can. Doing Nashville in November. Right in the heart of it. I'll have fun, but am dreading it. The crowds. The drunken tough guys wanting to fight anyone breathing.

Only thing I'm looking forward to is Opeth (prog rock band) at Ryman. I listen to Umphreys Mcgee which is labeled as prog rock, but isn't except for a few songs. Buddies 40th and I got great seats. May get better as he tore a bunch of ligaments kicking a heavy punching bag while drunk. So we might be able to get cripple seating even closer. Never have seen them, but seem like they're up my alley.

Yeah. The conceit of cities being crucibles of genius and intellect is moth eaten. The 'great central planners' are daft as wombats in their solipsistic delusions. It's the concentration of wealth generating institutions, bread and circuses that keep them going. That appears to be easily dismantled, and if you are stuck in your rabbit hutch, it is much, much worse than the suburbs. Now, the equal opportunity, printing press diploma generalissimos have taken control of the money fountains and are Zimbabwe-ing them.

Big cities are entertaining 'Satyricon' carnivals for rubber neckers for sure, but when they are full of dragons they lose their entertainment value.

Well, it is effective at distracting us from the oligarchy.

So it's all working exactly as planned, imho.
