Not if you close them down completely. Then they just go away. But citizens have to get used to the concept of personal responsibility, and carrying their firearm wherever they go.

Where we live it's just the Sheriff, and that's the way I prefer things. Sheriff's don't have ticket quotas, and can be voted out locally. It's the only form of law enforcement I'd ever support.

I've lived in high crime neighborhoods, police never stopped anything. Their job is to document crime after it happens, not stop it. And that's coming from them. But if you want to bring crime my way, my MP9 will be waiting for you...
