If you're in public, you're public. I can take a photo of anyone I want and post it outside of nudity without approval. If I'm making money, that's a different story. But if I took a photo of my family and a stranger was in the background it's totally legal.

I don't get people that are public figures and complain when they get heckled. There are other ways to make money without being in the spotlight. The recent shit with Lebron James and those hecklers. I don't agree with what they said, but it was not a direct threat. Play the damn game you chose to play in front of thousands of people. You are going to get shit on. Leave the league if you can't handle an off cuff remark. A drunk fan is of no threat.

What's "twitter"?

Any and all "oppressed people" crime will be banned.

Don't people get it yet?

You CAN use continue to use Twitter, if you want - but what does anybody get out of a censored platform which doesn't allow free speech?

Just go watch TV, get a subscription to the NY Times, and enjoy your Netflix.

This move to censor the population is completely antithetical to the purpose of the Internet. Entirely. These companies are artificially propped up to push an agenda. They need advertisement on television and in banner ads to survive. Only the dregs of society really use these platforms.

Let me put it this way - would you rather have this site being used by literally everybody? I wouldn't. You don't want to be on a major website simply because there's so many idiots, and propagandists on them. You want to be on a website that is just under the radar, at most.

I remember not too long ago, an age of the internet wherein if a company changes a policy or makes something worse, their service was expected to die. User migrations were all the rage. What happened? What's different about twitter?

The internet had a huge onboarding of "Normies", esp. when social media came around. In the 1990s and 2000s, it was still overwhelmingly White Dudes and a handful of others, mostly just on for Myspace and Ebay. Around 2008-2010 massive adoption by the general public, Youtube taken over by Google, Facebook, etc.

The purpose of the internet is for rich fucks to get more money out of this as well as control ppl.

No, it wasn't.

The short term view of on boarding people onto the net was to make money, of course. But the longer term view was to give them a voice and more political power, and especially more access to information. Do you remember in the late 1990's "mainstream media" kept questioning "how can you trust what you read on the Internet?" and "what about your privacy on the Internet???"

This was fearmongering to keep you off the net, simple because it was a very direct threat to the establishment, and we knew full well it was. What we didn't expect was for companies like Google "do no evil" would go full out evil. When their "parent" company Alphabet (created after them) took control of them and removed that as an official motto, we knew what was up.

All that has really happened is that the establishment HAS lost control. As companies become more and more dictatorial and censorious, others will pop up to replace them. We sincerely attempted to help the wider population, but if people are willing to stay on these frankly traitorous and government supported platforms - what the fuck are we supposed to do?

We will leave them behind. We're still going to win, but it won't be the entire population that wins, it will be a subset. Not just engineers, and nerds and so on, but quite an significant number of people. I'd say at least 25% of the population. The rest, I don't know what the authorities will do with them, but with 25% that's too large of a group of eliminate and it's large enough of a group to literally overthrow the government or force the government to come to negotiations.

We did great things, people can now talk to people all over the world, they can bypass their propaganda, they can be educated in ANYTHING, that they want to be. What we didn't expect, is that the majority people wouldn't be interested in this ability. That was a shock, and still is.

I'm in Silly Con Valley, and I'm still flabbergasted at how willingly ignorant people are. I know a guy that sincerely thinks the reason the US was bombing Syria was to "stop a humanitarian crisis over sectarian violence". I can't believe how naive he is. I know people that sincerely think there's a real pandemic here, because apparently they have never read about one before. Really, the Spanish Flu wasn't THAT big of a deal, and everybody in my grandparents generation said they knew SOMEBODY that died from it. Can't say it about this pandemic. I know people that argue with me about taking the vaccine and say "700,000 people have died in the US" and I have to point out that's not much in TWO YEARS in a population of 330 million people and that actually more people have died this year, than they did last year.

I'm generation X. The boomers seem particularly hard to educate, I'd say maybe 1/2 of my generation CAN be educated, but it gets better going down, despite all this woke nonsense bullshit. So, I still have plenty of hope.

Legally, yes. But Twitter is imposing this as their policy, which they can do.

Agree. Their user base will continue to plummet outside of bots though. I've never used it. Viewed it. Never saw any appeal. It's going the way of MySpace in the early years of SM. It was crumbling before Trump got in during 2015/16. They then screw their shareholders and ban the guy that kept them alive.

I don't know a single person that uses twitter. Not a joke. 38 so maybe I'm a geezer at this point or my intuition is right that this is a drowning cat.

It's not a drowning cat.

Most people would have sympathy for a drowning cat. Nobody has sympathy for Twitter.

The elites are taking back control. They don't like the peasants able to post images and videos - they miss the days when the MSM "news" channels had that video market on exclusive lock, and could just not show things they didn't like, and could edit videos to fit their narrative, with no possibility of one of those damn peasants tweeting out the full, unedited video.

Imagine the Kyle event if individual users couldnt post videos, and had to go through a "news" channel.
Imagine the wokesha parade - (hint - it would have had 5 black victims and a raging whyte supremacist driver).

Trayvon case was the moment when they knew they lost control: the recording of the 911 call was first released by legacy media in a heavily redacted form making Zim sounding like KKK-Hitler-thing but then leaked in it's original form and blew the whole narrative out of the water.

I can't say before the 1990's, but for the last 30 years, our media has been nothing but propaganda. I've been trying to prove it for decades.

You don't know how fucking happy I am to see some amount of success after 3 fucking decades. More than 1/2 of my life.

Censorship isn't a victory, it's a failure. There's ALWAYS been censorship, but it's been in our "4th estate". We've destroyed the 4th estate FINALLY, and now there's censorship - that's a retreat. We're going to win. First major victory I've seen in my lifetime. People OPENLY make fun of our propaganda, our press.

The Daily Show back in the mid "naughts" was a small victory, but it only touched "the left", and they were quickly re-assimilated. Now the RIGHT is becoming aware and there's no single focal point to attack. I don't think they will be easily re-assimilated. The next mass awakening will be on "the left" again, when they realize all this racial division bullshit is media driven - when they realize "their allies" are all Judas Goats.
17   Ceffer   2021 Dec 1, 1:00pm

Twitter's 'censorship' has an MSM exception (surprise, surprise) in which anything promulgated by MSM can be posted because it is repeated from 'legitimate' news sources LOL!.
So, as expected, the censorship extends only to citizen journalists and independents.

Callin, a social podcasting app launched two months ago and is an alternative to the likes of Twitter Spaces, announced a major upgrade. The app, co-founded by former PayPal COO David Sacks, who has condemned the recent trend towards political censorship, combines the idea of social audio and podcasting.

I don't download apps on my phone, but if I did, I'd consider this one.

I sure hope so. I came late to this game, being redpilled only about 5 years ago, and I consumed very little MSM and politics up to that point.

Sometimes I've felt like blaming social media for the spread of wokeness and the feeling that the world is falling apart socially, because from my naive point of view, they surged at the same time, and giving everyone a voice allowed for the growth of wokeness through their cyber-bullying tactics. Or social media may be allowing foreign cultural interference upon us. But this is probably wayyy to simplistic a view.

Seeing the "news" engage in lies and coverup, and collude politically, made me realize the propaganda machine has likely been raging since forever, and are only now having opposition. I think maybe they've just recently gotten better at it (via computer tracking allowing them to use analytics to find optimal propaganda arguments for each personality type), or they've gotten more motivated.

It has been here forever. It used to drive me crazy when I was 25 to hear a propaganda piece repeated by an actual human being. I've lived with this for more than 1/2 my life, and it's VERY VERY hard to get people to accept they can be tricked. You might be starting to feel it now. Welcome to my world.

But they aren't getting better at it. They've entirely lost control.

At this point, the people that still believe the media's lying bullshit, they're just not worth saving but that's only 1/2 the population now. Not 95% like it was when I was 25. They have all the opportunity in the world to understand what is going on, the most powerful communication and research machine ever built and if they won't use it, if they can't realize they're being lied to after 4 years of "Russian Collusion" and "Trump is senile and needs to be removed by the 25th amendment" and all the other bullshit nonsense - fuck them. I'm done at this point.

When I have to listen to some asshole with a degree in engineering or even a pHD tell me I need to get a vaccination for a disease that kills less than 1 in 100 people, and even then, it's mostly killing people at death's door - I just give up. These people are too arrogant and too fucking stupid to be helped. In 18 months my attitude has changed from "I need to help these poor helpless fools" to "fuck 'em, let 'em die". It doesn't take much effort to think a little and I would expect people who have had to think for a living, would do a little bit of it on the side, but NOPE. The DUMBEST mother fuckers on this planet, BY FAR are the "highly educated". THEY are the useless eaters.

And even then (in just that statement), you are apparently yielding to the false premise that the jab does anything to stop you from catching, carrying, or spreading Covid.

It doesn't matter if it does or doesn't.

If the vaccines were 100% effective, it literally makes no difference except to myself whether I take it or not and people who are pushing me to take it aren't urging me to do this for MY health. I have lost any last bit of respect I have for "authorities" in the last 18 months, and any respect for people who still listen to them and repeat their statements. Thanks to this "pandemic" I now know who is human, and who are literally NPCs.

Oh, I believe it does matter. The widespread belief that the vaxx prevents Covid in the manner that a traditional vaccine like polio prevents polio, is dangerous. Therefore, I like to counter that false premise when I see it. I was not arguing about your right to refuse the vax. In fact, if the vaxx was 100% effective, that would mean you definitely have a right to refuse, as no one who got the vaxx would be in any danger from any unvaxxed person.

It's simply wrong.

The question is does the vaccine confer any benefits for the people who submit to it? That's not clear. I've heard the claims, but the were done without trials. I have great doubts as to their efficacy but even if they are effective, the fact I'm being ordered by my government and pressured by them - that alone will prevent me.

I have never seen this government act in the best interest of their citizens in my lifetime, and I don't believe they are doing that now.
