That is something I think has great potential, for any space exploration. Even if it's unmanned. Having limitless long term power will be key to everything else.
Fuck all that converting the ice on the moon to water, to extract hydrogen from, bull shit!

Why put it on the moon? Why not just put the reactor out in space?

I think they have some pretty intense solar radiation on the moon. On the light side, anyway.

So how much more do they wanna tax us or inflate/devalue our money to pay for this?

You don't need nuclear power on the moon. The Green Dems have assured us that wind power on the moon is most do-ble. It will only require another couple of trillions in deficits.

They moon does not have a light and dark side - all of the moon experiences day and night. Some just call the side away from Earth as the "dark side."

Just make it part of the Build Back Better that costs "nothing."

Thanks, I never thought about it before, but it has to be true, even though one side of the moon is always facing earth.

It's sensible because if we're ever going to colonize other planets we would have to know how to handle the logistics of getting all of the shit there. This is better than everyone was saying "let's go to Mars as soon as Elon Musk can give a cool Rocket ship to get there. Let's go the next day, we'll figure something out, when we get there!"
It will either succeed or fail, but it will be better than learning that lesson on Mars. If there's ice in the polar caps, perhaps the Nuke station can power the Hydrogen production.
Or it could be used to Power an Observatory on the "Dark side of the Moon" (The Moon; "Hey man it was a bad chapter in my life OK! I was going through a Phase!")
Also with the Power, they could build an Electric rail launcher. So return trips will require less fuel.
And more over, I can't wait to sign up to be Space Trucker!

True, the poles of the moon never see daylight, so no extreme daytime temperature. But I suspect water is not rare on the moon or on any planet, due to eons of comets strikes.
