IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig testified to the Senate Finance Committee today. Rettig said agents are only picking up one in five taxpayer phone calls.

Rettig said: “We are currently running around 19 to 20 percent level of service.”

And most of the time, you can tell you're speaking to a "Create Jobs in the Inner City"

Of course, the whole thing is a distraction; get mad at the IRS, not the politicians behind it.

They could easily contract it out.

Maybe try calling the City of London or the Vatican instead, since the Woo says that's where the money goes first to process the vig before some of it is returned for government services 'for' the people. DC is reputedly 'functioning' on post INC bankruptcy fumes and Babylonian loan extensions, while the pols are trying to launder blocs of fiat money while they can.

I called them once in 2009.

The guy whom I talked to was cool.

I can’t imagine calling them again.

I also once called the California Franchise Tax Board.
After a 1:15 wait, the guy was helpful also.

Never again.

I called for EIN filing questions, the person who answered was great, and I got my answer in 5 minutes.

For tax stuff though, good luck. Ask any accountant or tax lawyer about working with the IRS.
