... for an entire month.

"Bananas heal almost every disease known to man....
I usually eat mung beans with granola every 2nd Friday....
You know how great a plant based diet is? I sleep 10 hours a day now, when I was a meat eater...
I don't know why my Calico Whiskers keeps needing to go to the vet for dehydration, I force feed her 2 beets a day...
Farting incessantly is a sign of maximal digestive health, the stinkier the better..."

That's the same reason Pride sucks. Just replace Bananas, Mung Beans, and Granola with Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity (DIE). And Trans Kids. And dudes claiming to be women with thick beards, Adam's Apples, and 1970s late disco era garish makeup.

Amateurs... They broke the 6th yoke.

I'm going to open myself up to ridicule by saying this. I won't go into all of the details, about 16-17 years ago my wife & I went plant based and it literally saved my life. Without going into details, I was given 1-3 years to live 'at best.' My condition reversed without medical assistance and zero medications. So as far as it being healthier, I have no doubt about it.

Just another example: I have a friend that is the head of the local Electrical Workers Union, he's Italian (I kid him about being a mobster) and loves to eat. He is 52 years old married with 3 kids. He is not the kind of guy that likes to share personal information, but one night he began telling me about all of his health problems. The following week, he was going to have surgery for kidney stones. He also told me that he has heart stents, which I did not know about.

Alright, long story short. I told him what the plant based diet has done for my wife & I and although he seemed interested, I doubted he would make any type of change in his diet. The next day, to my surprise, I got a message from him telling me that he stayed up until 4:00 AM checking out plant based diets on the internet. That was back in May of 2023. When I saw him about 3 weeks ago, the guy looked like a completely different person. He told me that he decided that night to go plant based and that he lost 46 pounds (was about 220 lbs.), is off of his blood pressure meds and that his Cardiologist is baffled.

PS: For what it is worth: when I went 'plant based,' it was due entirely for health reasons. Again, I actually reversed my heart condition without any assistance whatsoever from the traditional medical community. In fact, had I listened to them back then, there is no doubt I wouldn't be here today. (A married couple that I knew both had the same condition that I did, although slightly worse. Both died within one year of their diagnosis).

Why would any of that open you up to ridicule? If doing a plant-based diet works for you, be it for health or philosophical reasons, what is the problem? I do not think anyone here wants to disallow another's diet; they just do not want a plant-based diet forced on anyone else.

I honestly don't care about anyone's diet. Move is all I tell people. I got a clean bill of health after my seizure. MRI, EEG, Cat scan, blood tests. Stress induced according to my neurologist.

I think poor health has more to do with your job. If you sit all day it's awful for you. That's what a good chunk of Americans do today. Diet doesn't matter in my opinion unless all you do is eat Hostess type sugar products. Basically trash. Lower weight helps, but you can do that eating meat, plants or cats and dogs.... lol. Just avoid processed foods really and get anything as natural as you can source. Grow a garden. Buy a butchered cow or pig from a local farmer. Get chickens if you have the land. Don't eat candy.

But again, you need to move. Wake up at 5am and do a 3 mile walk or bike 10 miles. Doesn't need to be anything strenuous. Fasting helps as well. I'm not jacked, but I look normal, not fat. Eat what I want. Source of the food is probably bigger than anything. Even plant based can be bad for you.

Well not always. The timing and irony of this comment.... today. Just launched breakfast out of my mouth. Food poisoning/or just isn't what I needed. Local pizza place that makes breakfast pizza. Lazy Sunday just turned into feeling like shit.

IMHO people go to plant-based food because it is a path to "pure food." Most industrially produced food is toxic long term. Once people discover REAL organic, wholistic food, it starts detoxifying their bodies, and they think it's great. I agree to some extent.

Plant-based diets are, for those who can juggle the myriad complexities, perhaps a solution. Mankind, however, didn't rise to sentience based on plants - for the counterexample, look at Gorillas, who use lower intestinal fermentation to create the real alimentary nutrients that their bodies need. It gave them big bodies, but small brains.

Humans rose to sentience by 1) mastering fire 2) ranging weapons for hunting 3) eating the extremely nutritionally dense meat and fat of ruminants, in no particular order. 100% grass-fed (none of this grain finishing bullshit) is a complete food - eating the meat and fat of naturally fatty animals provides 100% of all nutrients which a human needs. If meat causes illness, then it's not natural meat - it's factory feedlot meat.

Vegetables, certain beans and tubers have their place, but grains are not your friend. People of Northern European stock are particularly susceptible to the bad effects of gluten.

Hell, Peterson's daughter was all fucked up with autoimmune issues for most of her life until she went grass-fed carnivore - this was her way to detox.

In my own case, my wife was infertile until she could sufficiently detox to become pregnant. This took 1-2 years of eating REAL, WHOLE FOOD.

What's worse than being locked in a room with a vegan? How about being locked in a room with Kamala Harris while she talks her nonsense spiced with a heavy dose of cackling?

Bingo. That's why I don't take anything. I did do a test trial with some anti anxiety meds over the last two months. I stopped. First time I've had a prescription in ages.

You can't have anxiety if you're sleeping half the time. I was knocking out 12 hours a day of sleep, which was nice considering I get 4-5 at best, but nothing got done. I'm then scrambling to catch up and guess what? Anxiety. Didn't do a fucking thing besides numb me and make me sleepy.

I'll just be me and not give a shit. If I get cancer or break a bone, fine, I'll get treatment. It's rather disturbing how many people are on meds. Even younger ones. So I'm back to taking nothing besides vitamins and dealing with my shit sleep and anxiety on my own. Somehow dealt with it my whole life.

Back to the OP, I know I've commented on this thread, but I just don't get it. A vegan is a moronic human. I try to avoid morons. I don't even like vegetarians. It's like gays pushing being gay. I don't care. You're unhealthy. We don't exist without neanderthals making spears and killing those berries.... wait whoops, animals. Get off your high horse and stop being gay.

Yes, but think of the silence while she gives you a BJ.

I don't get the vegan thing. We're here because we were a hunter gatherer society. Yes we ate plant based foods as well, but meat was the biggie. I know a bunch of friends sitting in deer stands today and everyday the last 2-3 weeks even in 15ºF temps here in IL. They're looking for bucks with a big rack, but will eventually settle for a doe to have some deer meat for the year.

In modern rural society we literally need hunting. There are soooooooo many deer here in IL. Looked to my left and fucking deer was in my face and slammed into the side of my car. Window there, but the deers head was 8" from my face. We made eye contact, lol. Another reason to have a big car. It was loud, but not a big deal. Fortunately it was a doe so no antlers smashing my car up and no dents.

We need to kill things. Go to Montana in the winter. There are massive packs (not sure if correct term) of Elk. My one buddy only goes to areas his brother showed him. I go out there and just tell him to go down that road. He's like I've never been there. I'm like good, let's go. Stumble upon probably 500-700 Elk just grazing. My drone wasn't working but I could have gotten A+ video from the air. Pissed about it. I want to hunt out there bad and get some Elk.
