I think white is kind of hard on the eyes.

It changed? Well, if it suits you, I didn't notice it, so I approve of something I can't process.

I like it better now, the background contrasts nicely with the text boxes, and helps reduce light somewhat like you were going for.

As long as you don't change it to LBGQT colors.

That's RACIST!

I agree, it's hard on the eyes and is racist.

I dig it. I usually have my monitor on a low dim setting so the white hasn't bothered me, but it looks cleaner if that makes sense.

Interesting

I also didn’t notice

I like it.

fyi - A style change I added to patnet via user css is dropshadows on images. I like a small shadow as it helps me identify where one image begins and ends, when multiple are in a row. Also, screenshots can sometimes be difficult to discern from the real site.

I'm sure you recal back in the 90s-early 2000s web browsers had a default style of a solid border (usually blue) around images for this same reason. But it was very ugly.

Consider adding it if you like it:

    .comment img, .comment video {
box-shadow: 0 1px 3px rgba(0,0,0,0.12), 0 1px 2px rgba(0,0,0,0.24);
}

would make a good april fools joke if patnet loaded a rainbow style for the day haha...

btw, the tabs are still racist.

maybe light grey, like the post background, might look better? not sure...

It just needs all those little cartoons in the margins like MAD magazine.

I kind of like how they stand out more now.

And Pat would require proof of Vax to post.

HAHAHAH. I always joke with my southern wife (hispanic). Segregation is the answer. So in this case, Patrick segregated the background for the posts, and all of a sudden, everything looks better. Indeed, color segregation is good.

When is the gray going to start killing the white?
18   FortWayneAsNancyPelosiHaircut   2022 Aug 7, 7:14pm

White looked better IMO because text came out more. But it's still readable, just a little harder to read.

Puts on liberal hat:

Notice how there is more white on the page than black? That is called HTML racism. It was wrong then and it is wrong now. Educate yourself bigots!!!!

I would appreciate a 'dark mode', I'm usually on a PC but sometimes I can't sleep and read on my phone, and the bright sights make it harder to get back to bed
21   Ceffer   2022 Aug 7, 10:09pm

If the grey white contrast causes strobing issues and induces seizures, there could be a liability issue. I think apologies are in order.

Most phones can invert the colors precisely for that purpose. Or at least they used to.
